Deffinatly a good thing about the Christmas period has to be the "Royal Institution Christmas Lectures". It's aimed at young kids, so it suites me down to the ground. Science becomes interesting and facinating during these talks. A shame that as I passed through the education system, science lessons became dull. So returning to my ideal minds state of my childhood... Why Elephants can't dance http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00x1v7lWhy Chocolate Melts and Jet Engines Don't http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00x1ygpand Why Mountains Are So Small http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00x1ynyYes, they haven't been broadcast yet. Starting tonight (Tuesday 28th December 2010) for the next 3 days [appologies to those of you that can't see BBC content]

Not sure if this goes in here. Couldn't justify creating a thread called "I geeked out for no real good reason". The Stunning DC Universe Intro Cinematic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AnQ-p4cU8w&feature=youtube_gdata

Want one! Throw in voice control and I'd geek out completly Yeah, I love all this stuff. There's a good thread on the OCUK forums where someone is documenting their new house build, with an incredibly awesome wiring/networking setup. His setup lets him keep the PC,s set top boxes and games consoles etc in a rack under the stairs, and has an HDMI multiplexer for sending the signals to any TV in his house. HDMI and USB are all transported over CAT6 cables with baluns. Infrared repeaters are in every room too, so the remote's work anywhere in the house.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=U4oB28ksiIoThis is a brilliant video, story starts at 3:15, bit long but is very cool. So a guy decides to steal a computer from a "hacker". Slightly disturbing looking at what the criminal does online but was very entertaining.
