Could we get the ability to create temp channels in Mumble?

It'd help organizing (properly named channels) and allow moving around without needing an admin.

Hzza was on, but unfortunately I hadn't gotten around to adding him to the clan-admins group because you can only do that once a player is registered and not all of the clan-members or admins are. (Hzza - you are now an admin on the mumble, along with all of the other admins that have registered. Those that aren't registered - I can't make you an admin until you register)

You're not even registered on the mumble yourself Cruel, which means that even if I wanted to - I couldn't give you any permissions on the mumble server.

Experience has shown that even though our mumble is passworded - sometimes we get people coming on and causing hassle, so I would be reluctant to give users the permissions to create channels / move people.

I can however look into making a channel that will allow registered users to create temporary channels inside that channel.

I do want to remind people though that *is* the WDG clan mumble and the fact that we allow the regs to use it is a privilege - not a right. If these new permissions start being abused, or if we start seeing lots of people using it that we don't know (without asking permission such as you have with Kenny, or beau did last night for HoN) then these privileges will be removed.

If you ever need a temporary channel and I'm on Steam do ask, I don't mind popping on quickly to set something up.

To be honest, there are easily enough channels on Mumble that all the WDG members and authorised T-Regs can come on and play the games we play without using all the channels... it's not as if the channels have to be religiously adhered to anyway, nobody will actually mind if you're playing TF2 and you're in the L4D channel or something...
Mumble is one of the things that barely anyone needs admin for because there's very rarely anything to do (except Deadly last night with his heroic Channel-Switching Skillz, which I have +1'ed him for).

I didnt mention tf2 never played BF but a lot of games now have in game voice chat.

I can understand the appeal of dedicated voice servers for clans and pro matches etc, but for general pub play, its usually just banter thats spoken, and in game chat is good enough for this imo.....

using dedi-voice-servers just isolates players who don't have access to it. if it's used for private non game related chat, regs dont really need it (do they?) as steam chat and pms through the forum should surfice?

We only use it for officals/mixes or non-TF2 related activities; I don't think anyone uses it instead of ingame on the pub server as there would be no banter otherwise...
