@Mama: Only played the Alpha but there was a connect-to-ip multiplayer option in the menu. Havent tried it out yet, but that would be freakin epic if we all would build a giant WDG-castle

There's 2 modes for mp

1st is creative mode, where you have unlimited blocks and can make buildings/pictures ect.. that's the free version. Then there's the Survival mode which doesn't actually have enemies in it yet, but there's plans for pvp and enemy spawners and eventually,  full on survival, just like the sp
if you want to have a go on any of these, lemme know cuz ne have a few servers than need filling.. or... wdg has a dedi now

Hey guys, there might be a free weekend. Notch has server problems so he is setting up a cloud solution so until then he might make it free.

Also people greyscreen when launching minecraft, to fix just Alt+l which is the shortcut for switch user and re log-on.

He has fixed the greyscreen issue I think.

Go to http://www.whatsmyip.org/ and it will tell you your external one.

Also he updated the game, shift means you go into sneak mode, sort of like crouch by now you can 'sneak' over edges and not fall off!

He is trying to add Biomes and also the free minecraft until he fixes server issues is confirmed.

Oh yeah, and alot of things are currently messed up. Player skins and peoples names are messed up, I guess he is working hard to fix them.

Bought this last week. Oh, the stories.

Seeing as I was playing it at uni and came home without sending my save file over, I started again. The terrain generator seems to be stuck on epic, since it spawned me at the base of a huge mountain that ended in a massive overhang. My immediate response was to build a base in said overhang. After many hours, which included a trip to the bottom of the map in a quest for redstone and a happy half hour spent stripping a nearby beach of all sand, I'd dug my base to the edge of the overhang and replaced all the outer tiles with a single layer of glass, giving me a panoramic view over the forest (which I planted pretty much entirely myself) below. Then I built a huge lighthouse of 64 torches so I could find my base again when the bug that changes my spawn rips through and confuses me horribly.
Oh, and then I built a castle with roughly 1000 excavated stone blocks on the cleared beach, and ran a high speed minecart train from my base to it, complete with redstone triggered pressure pads that allow me to step on a tile in either station and have a minecart redirected in and not leave until I sat in it, simply because I couldn't be bothered to wait the 20 seconds it takes for a full lap if I missed the click required to get it at the speed it goes.

Survival multiplayer is going to be incredible, but single player survival is easily worth the price several times over on its own.
