forgot to post this the other day but 1.3 is scheduled now for august 1st? I am slightly confused but I guess they still have a lot of backend work to do for the mod api or something.

http://www.mojang.com/2012/07/minecraft-1-3-info-snapshot-w27/typical, modding api delayed till 1.4. But eh while it will be cool think i'm more interested in most of the vanilla tweaks and fixes atm. We might be able to consider some mods before 1.4 anyway as 1.3 is still removing singleplayer forcing all mods to either wait for the api or switch to mp now.

nice. only thing i didnt like there was that cobblestone was basically identical to stone. Really liked all the other textures and items.

Mobs can now spawn on top slabs and upside down stairs
Thats bad news for my building. Its all open plan with slabs to stop the mobs oppppppppps

"Dispensers: Minecarts & boats will now be placed if there's rails/water in place" Soooooo gonna put dispensers full of minecarts at stations if anyone makes another railway when we spawn move (i'm too lazy to do the whole thing :p)
"Dispensers: Instead of dispensing buckets, dispensers will now suck in or place water or lava in front of them" Must work out how to use that to create roof traps that dispense lava above a block when it gets mined out :p Also, I foresee mass bucket filling redstone circuits at wells (shame lava doesn't propagate or i'd build a lava one for fuel gathering!)
In fact, as long as it's slower acting than water propagation and follows the same rules, I think that might be a nice thing to add as a mod on the server, maybe make it nether only too or something I dunno, but it makes sense with them finally fixing lava buckets as fuel and the new bucket behavior for dispensers.

I hate how as soon as a new version is out I want to play the next one. 1.4 already has a lot of fixes to villagers/villages/trading and also zombie infection of villagers. Also has the mod api, item frames for displaying items. Finally stone walls. Fences are always a bit of a worry if you some how many to set them on fire everything escapes. Added weapons and armour for skellies and zombies to wear. Night vision potion. New mob, and flower pots.

damn you dinnerbone, stop making me want 1.4. Guys i'm almost tempted to install the unstable snapshots. Does anyone object? He just added a finally cool use for dyes, you can dye your armour silly colours.
