I'm more interested in the Sharpshooter mode (everyone has the same weapon, changes every so often).

[rant]One of the biggest turn-offs for me in MW2 was the gun/perk/everything unlock system shitting on me until I'd got to level x and could kill someone at rank y with gun z who could take twice the amount of damage as me and blow me up twice as hard.[/rant]

A nice even playing field is exactly what would get me into this sort of game.

The game modes and the new method of unlocking stuff sound awesome. And they finally implemented offline botgames.

Since disco disappoints, I'll have to point out that,

You’ve got a new in-game currency, COD Points, that let you buy new bits and bobs with pretend-o-cash earned as you play, and can be gambled in Wager matches.

Sounds like the unlock-o-fest of MW2, except that you can loose experience points again. \o/

You only loose money in the Wager (wager being another word for bet or gamble) type game modes AFAIK, the "core" game modes will just see you winning monies I imagine...

Plus, its got to be a better way then the "get 5000 headshots for a new camo scheme" bullcrap from before right?

that doesnt sound too bad. unless they later announce trollolol, you can buy cod points for the cheap cheap exchange rate of £10 = 5 cod points, and a hat costs 50

Much lols at the second trailer where he can't get a single kill to advance, so he has to knife 4 players to demote them.

To be fair, gun game and sharp shooter were a lot of fun in soldier of fortune (though in that game you progressed the weapon ladder DOWN, that way one good player can't get one or two kills ahead and make it near impossible to catch up. It also gives newbies a chance to get "easy" kills since they have better weapons.).

@disco: Tbh. if handled correctly I wouldn't care about being able to buy ingame stuff. For example if valve allowed you to buy specific hats for 10$, but left the drop system the way it is, I'd be fine with that.
Just make it reasonable to do it without spending money.

Any news how powerful killstreaks are? That's one of the things I hated about MW2

Remote control car is pretty much an underpowered predator (aparently it isn't a one hit kill) that goes along the ground; care package is care package; there is another predator style missile thing which I can't recall the name of and I also thing there's a napalm strike. Might be more but those are the only ones I've heard of so far. Seems much more like the W@W ones (ie, more anoying then powerful) then the retardly strong, insta-death killstreaks in MW2.

Also, agree with you about the ingame monies Cruel; I don't give 2 shits about any cosmetic stuff you can buy (hats, camo etc) with real money, but as soon as you can start buying weapons that aren't available through unlocking then you just unbalance the game. F2P devs learned this long ago, hopefully Treyarch/Acti won't make the same mistakes but I'm not holding my breath tbh...

edit - Also, if they've included gun game then they HAVE to include reverse gun game right? If not, expect it to be modded in within about 4 seconds .

EA tried that with the first Bad Company. In the Beta they teased you with buyable weapons but then the shitstorm came and it mysteriously disappeared in the final product

But we're speaking of Bobby fucking Kotick here :/

IIRC mod tools will be released "shortly after launch", which frankly kinda worries me. Has that ever worked out for a game?
