Try the card in a different slot - check your BIOS settings maybe? I know on mine I can disabled the onboard LAN.

But if it's the mobo, than I doubt it'll hold on much longer. I mean it's onboard card is borked and at least one PCI slot. How much longer until it completely breaks?

Well it doesn't work in either slot. I'm leaning towards the network card being flaky as it seems to be second handish. Friggin eBay.. Also I did disable the onboard lan.

Edit: Has anyone got a USB/thernet adapter going spare?

Ethernet cards are cheap enough to buy in a regular store. If you try to save a few pennies by buying something like that on eBay you deserve the trouble you've got.

Well, I didn't know it was second hand, and it's not like I'm in the house for a couriered delivery, nor do I have easy transport to any of the depots around here.

I actually basketed up a card at dabs, but they were charging 6.99 for the card, and another 6.99 for postage...
