so did anyone who preordered on steam actually get their preorder content. steam support is being like WAT PREORDER CONTENT DERP? I swear it was on the store page, and i checked all the preorder dlc from different places I wouldn't have picked steam if I could get it cheaper on amazon with more dlc...

But without preorder you don't have any access to the lol-free-hacking-item right? That thing is pretty good.

yeah having that would be nice for future runs so I can ignore hacking perks, and dick around with the silenced sniper and stuff. So can anyone confirm buying on steam and getting the preorder bonuses? I forget if you bought retail or steam abda

I thought the only pre-order stuff was TF2 items.

Its TF2 items, a silenced sniper rifle, a shotty boombatty and the unlocking tools (which tbh I never used which is why I forgot them totally)

Finished this up last night. I went for the self-destruct option. Seemed to fit in best with how I'd been playing the rest of the game. It annoyed me that my actions didn't impact the ending though, it was just a play the game you want, then a "Ok then, which ending do you want to see, pick a button, quickly now". Reviews mentioned actions impacting later on in the game but the only example of that I could pick out was whether or not you chose to get the biochip upgrade. Obviously did not, did anyone actually fall for that?
I played mostly stealthy, with hacking and non-lethal takedowns. Which meant the boss fights were really bloody annoying. Seems like such a strange design decision, encouraging choice throughout the entire game then suddenly saying for short periods that you have to use lethal combat.
Overall though, enjoyed it. Took me about 20 hours overall. Felt shorter, but I suppose that's reasonable by the standards of modern games. Judging by my number of achievements look like theres a fair bit I missed, but I reckon I'm going to go back to the original first, then replay this one on the hardest difficulty going all guns blazing.

Does it matter at all that I haven't played the other two?

You won't notice the nice little bits of foreshadowing, but otherwise as it's a prequel you should still be able to enjoy it as a self contained story.
