Tried clearing the CMOS?
Many times while trying to fix it.
Well, if 2 slots are fried already, I'd be afraid of the other 2 frying aswell, so I'd rather look at a new motherboard.
Maybe use the chance and get a new processor while you're at it? What's your current setup?
On the other side...4 gigs of ram are probably way cheaper right now
It seems odd that it would happen during OS installation though...
Current setup is Striker II Formula 780i with C2D E8500. Did have 4GB DDR2 at 1066MHz, would cost ~£100 to buy 2 x 2 gig sticks.
Seems overkill to replace a mobo after 2 and a bit years' use to me. But if the slots are genuinely fried...
