The media in other countries is more genuinely and consistent supportive, if the team fails a match it's more "Keep your heads up guys!" and not "You have disgraced England you useless overpaid shitbags". You can't enjoy playing under that kind of pressure.
Yes I agree. I think Mrs Junta regularly thinks the media is in our bedroom, as I often have to hold a "press conference" to explain my poor performances

I'll be supporting Germany against Argentina!
I'll be supporting Argentina because Tevez is City. I know Boateng is now but he hasn't played for us yet. BTW Tevezs goal was awesome tonight Strange how tevez having played in the same premiership as the england squad did not look in the slightest bit "tired"

I was forced to listen to the game on TalkSport which was probably worse than watching the game. One of the commentators was furious, saying "GERMANY SHOULD OF DONE THE RIGHT THING AND PUT THE BALL IN THE BACK OF THE NET RAH RAH RAH". We fucking wouldn't have.

Most of our players look as if they are scared to have the ball.
Can't really blame them, our media environment is at fault. The team gets hyped up incessantly and then mercilessly crushed when they don't live up to expectations. And god forbid a player makes a mistake, they get ripped to shreds ... look at what happened to Gareth Southgate. The media in other countries is more genuinely and consistent supportive, if the team fails a match it's more "Keep your heads up guys!" and not "You have disgraced England you useless overpaid shitbags". You can't enjoy playing under that kind of pressure. Whilst I agree our media is merciless, I feel the England team deserve to be slated. These guys play against the same players day in and day out in the premiership, and yet we were shocking. Worst of it is, is that it wasnt because we were simply outplayed, that I could deal with, its that they didn't look bothered at all. No way were they just tired, just they generally didnt give a shit. Playing for England should be a privilidge and an honour. Look at the videos of them coming off the plane just hours after being knocked out. They know the media will be there and yet they come off laughing and joking....

personally i'd just be relieved it was over say fuck the media and get shit faced on the plane. And in the premiership they are formed into proper teams, instead of the england team which is all the best players picked who have no clue how to play with other people.

I don't like football but I was glad to see Portugal get beaten. I found their 7-0 thrashing of North Korea pretty unsporting considering all that was at stake for them was a world cup, wheras the North Korean team was basically playing for their lives. I'm not saying they should have thrown the game, but they could have settled for 2-0 instead of basically murdering 11 men and their families.
