Feel free to elaborate on the attendant circumstances (maps, events, presentation), but for the vote please focus on the class itself.

Going purely on the weapon/class changes (not including added maps/game modes) I've got to go for medic. The kritz opened up a complete different avenue of tf2, the ubersaw was a great addition (admittedly its a complete buff over the bonesaw but it gives a good tradeoff for the risk a medic has to take going into melee combat) and the blut is a nice option for those battle hungry medics

On the unlock front, can't be anything other then the medic;on the presentation front, has to be the spyper update. So thats my 2 votes! One day I will l2readthethread! Pyro was the other successful update I guess, mainly by merit of adding some of my fave weapons; flares/airblast/axti.

No update has been better then the spyper update for presentation and execution though; every single day all every games blog/website had at least 1 headline story about it which tells its own story and the whole community just went absolutly nuts over it.

Well, unlock balance wise the medic is a clear winner.
The greatest tool delivered the spyper update. Not only because of the spy watches which got me into spy playing, but also because of the sniper unlocks: I don't think anybody saw any of these coming. I mean...a bow? Jarate? (Which started as april fools!) Oh and just the fact that it was a two-for-one update; remember valve trolling us with displaying the spy sometimes?
Pyro clearly got the biggest upgrade (by design though).

And although you didn't ask: I like the scout the least. The update and the class.

So yeah, medic gets my vote.

I'd disagree with medic- the kritzkrieg has seen a lot of use, but the other two weapons have just outright replaced the other two, which isn't a brilliant outcome after a couple of years of potential balancing.

I'd say the sniper update has produced the best weapons in terms of balance- I see all 3 unlocks in regular use, which is probably more than I can say about any other class, with the possible exception of the heavy (who got my second vote)

Übersaw yes, the blutsager's balanced after the changes IMHO.
(and neither will see much use normally cause the medic should be busy healing/übering )

I voted for the pyro, gives a genuine alternative to all weapons, the airblast was a brilliant buff and recently the backburner has been made useful and done a world of good for my kpd.

Can you clarify, Tea, are you limiting this just to the actual class update itself or including subsequent updates that further balanced the new unlocks (kritzkrieg charge rate buff, ambassador accuracy nerf, etc)?

Either way, I'd still say that the medic update was the best, just for the kritzkrieg alone. I think that they will balance the bonesaw at some point since they took the effort to go back and balance the needle gun.

Natasha is a good alternative to Sasha and the kgb's are okay. Sandvich is sandvich (got it's own "meet the..." movie)

I think that the heavy got reasonable unlocks that didn't break the game massively.

I did also mean to vote for the medic unlocks too. They were good and offered a decent change in tactics with the Kritz.

Interesting you say that, because I consider unlocks that do that a "fail" tbh Just an opinion I know, but imho, the best unlocks complimented what was there and extended play. Where something totally replaces an item it is a shame. I feel that the game gets cut down when that happens!

Upgrades are a bad thing. No class needs an outright upgrade! Maybe a slight buff or nerf here and there, but nothing major. Sidegrades are the way forward
