Sound quality wise I like my Shuree E2C's, but most of the time I use my Sennheiser cx300's because they are less hassle for taking out and putting in.
I've heard good things about the Klipsch Image X1's or Soundmagic pl30's.

id just rebuy the sennheisers. If you listen to music in public it's sort of pointless getting decent headphones because the sound of traffic/trains/ bus will always be there

Yup. I'm on a set of Sennheiser MM50s now (which double as an iPhone/ PC headset -- through a finely crafted adapter by me)... I'd say staying with the Sennheisers will give you the best bang for the buck.
If you wanna go pro though, look into something from shure.

Those are the ones I have, £40 is a bit much, most stores sell them for £30, or online for less as you found.
Reasonably good, just I find sometimes they just break, so I've had a fair few pairs over the last few years, sigh.

I'm going to get these sometime in the near future. I've heard such good reviews from Head-fi and they're dirt cheap too.

Suppose this can go here, rather than a new thread.
I'm looking for some top end full back headphones for music and occasional film/tv use. I'm a bit lost when it comes to audiophile brands. Anyone got any recommendations, not talking about the crazy £1000+ ones but something that is proper quality and will last me years.

I've had a pair of BeyerDynamic DT770 Pros for a good 5 years now. Don't look like they cost a lot but they're around £150 and I'm still yet to be more impressed by anything that Bose and other popular brands bring out. Coily cable too Everything by senheiser in this price range isn't as good. I've done a LOT of research (actually using them in studios) and the DT770s always came out on top (apart from level checks, I use wireless headphones for that because it's easier and quality isn't as important) Would also recommend Genelec for active speakers if you're trying to setup anything studio-esque

In this case though what he's saying actually makes sense. I need to get myself some decent headphones at some point. Been doing more live mixing recently and it would come in handy.

great choice with getting the senn's really love mine and they sound fantastic Sound quality wise I like my Shuree E2C's,
do not go with the e2c's. maybe i run hotter then other people but i find that when i have the wires i looped them back over my ear (i prefer it that way) the cabling on them dies so quickly (either i melt the goddamn casing or they just fall apart?!)! i went through 3 before i couldnt be bothered with RMA's and switched to senn.
