Do any developers test their product against mods for it?

Essentially though...sourcemod is the only admin mod available for TF2 these days. I would reckon that the majority of servers run it.

All they would have had to do was give the sourcemod developers some notices that they were updating their compiler and this would be a non-issue.

Agreed, for a developer praising itself doing so much for the MOD community Valve could try a little harder to keep them informed. Not by doing the testing for them, but perhaps a mailing list (or so) which gives notice along the lines of "We changed a few things there and there so you might wanna check compatibility".

On the same note I would wish Valve would announce changes on the script language. The change of the build command did inevitably break every engy script on the planet and now each engy has to look for the new parameter setting himself.
And the cryptic "Fixed old Engineer build keybinds not working with the new system" makes me wonder what the correct syntax is now. Do I have to undo the changes I applied yesterday?

Erm...there is a mailing list...it's called the HLDS mailing list and comes in linux & windows flavours depending on what server software you're running. You can get the details of it here: http://list.valvesoftware.com/

They gave an hours notice that an update was coming, but gave no details of what was changing.

Hmm… The most any devs really do is put in the patch notes 'custom xyz may have issues to do abc'. Which I guess is more than Valve do at present.
