Yes Band of Brothers was awsome.. we all know that! This is by the same guys (not the same actors lol)

So far they've shown the first 2 episodes and it's pretty good so far. It's not as good as the first 2 episodes of BoB but that's a huge ask IMO. Really Enjoying it so far

I believe it is if you have access to sky player (or whatever the online version of sky is)

Episodes get released 2 a week every monday night at 9 (that's when they're on sky premier)

I'm up to episode 4 atm, unfortunately ep 3 especially is a bit poor, nothing really happens (they're just on R&R in melbourne) and ep 4 is just spent in some field hospital cos a certain someone cant stop pissing himself (dont think that's a spoiler really). Seriously hope ep5 picks things up a bit. I want this to be awesome, loved BoB (even went on a "Band of Brothers" tour when I was in Normandy), but so far it's good, sure, but no where near as good as BoB =/

I don't know but that episode (ep3) trys to show its not only the fighting which is screwing these soldiers up. Because this is early war at the moment we are not geting the pellalu battles and so forth at the end of the war and if my history serves me they were bruta,but we are learning about these characters much more so than BoB. So its a series more about the soldier than the group and i liked it.

Best bit so far was in episode 1 when we had the beach landing, great parallels to Normandy from the director

BoB was actually about real men, with interviews with the actual people. This gave the show real bite...

Is the pacific not the same? I suppose it is just a dramatisation maybe? Not based directly on a real unit with real people?

Well obviously I'm not sure whether Pacific is the same, I suppose it might do, it has a similar template to BoB (i.e. episode begins with veterans talking then gets into the acted part).
