Congratulations, you are in a broadband enabled area.
Click here to compare packages available to you.
However, there is another service on your phone line (e.g. ADSL, LLU, DACS, etc) that would prevent you from ordering a new ADSL connection.
The following services are available in your location:
BT Wholesale ADSL
BT Wholesale ADSL Max
BT Wholesale SDSL
AOL LLU
TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
Tiscali LLU
Orange LLU (Formerly Wanadoo)
Virgin Media (Cable)
Please select the options on the left for more information about broadband availability at your location.
Deadly-
I got the postcode of my exchange from SamKnows and then plugged it into googlemaps with my postcode and asked for directions, by road it was something like 1.2miles.
BT Estimates my speed at 6, I can't get Be.

BT have finally reached the god awful p*ss poor bottom level of customer service for me.
After having a spat with them last year over changes to my billing (un-announced changes), and some rude customer service agents, I phoned up their service team to see what offers they could make me in order to retain my custom. The agent couldn't seem to grasp the concept of a customer who had previously experienced bad service, wanting a deal or discount to stay as a customer. To cut a long story short, I told them to F right off.
God help me, I'm trying TalkTalk because of the much cheaper deal.... I hope it works out.

We tried TalkTalk.... BT were actually better (yes they truly were awful, cost us a fortune too). We are with Sky for phone and broadband and so far we have had no problems

I ma with BT no problems , however we do follow the advice on
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/cheap-broadband
For example in january this year i phoned BT and asked for my MAC code. I immediately got put through to "the negotiation" department and now enjoy unlimited downloads for £15 per month happy days and no connection issues stable speed (not ultra fast but good enough to play TF2 with four other PC's on the net.

Fair enough if Virgin is shit in your area. The caps really arn't that bad though, I was still pulling down around 300GB a month no problem. Just set a scheduler so you only download overnight, most US TV shows are released in the early mornings anyway so with RSS triggered downloads they are waiting for me when I wake up.
The caps are only short term daily affairs too and even when limited you still have a good enough service for normal browsing and streaming video ... 10Mb caps down to 2.5Mb/s which is still faster than the service I get on my home ADSL.
If you were downloading 24/7 even taking caps into account you can pull down 71.5GB/day on Virgins 10Mb as opposed to 43.2GB/day on an uncapped 4Mb line.
Are they really that bad in your area that your neighbours can't even beat the 4Mb you are getting with ADSL?

Not sure, tbh the only person I know with Virigin is Scroggs and he's about 10-15 min walk away. His internet is shocking.
Don't think I have any neighbours that do any real downloading, so the only way I could find was if I could pick up their WiFi, find out if it's Virgin and highjack it!
Sky won't let me check my monthly download as I'm on unlimited, any other way to find out?
I don't really like leaving my PC on overnight, it proper heats my room up xD, most of the intensive downloading I do is when I go out or when I'm not gaming online (so anytime really).
