Ugh. Decided I hate my landlady.
Little bit of background. Moved into this new place about 7 or 8 weeks ago. Its a really nice, spacious en suite room in a newish development in Cambridge. I pay a decent rate for it which is all inclusive of bills and council tax. Cuts my journey to work from 45 mins to half an hour. Good times.
There's three other people who live here. First is a guy called Stephen who lives downstairs, software developer, totally on the level, decent bloke. Next is Sean, mid-thirties, does wedding organising or some deal. Also a decent guy who is pretty easy to talk to. Finally is Sean's partner in crime, Bridget. At first I thought these two were a couple, seems that isn't the case, just good friends. Bridget is a nice enough, but she's intollerable. How Sean has put up with her company for this long I have no idea at all.
I'm not really clear on what Bridget does, I think its as some kind of manager or supervisor in a really girly environment, probably beauty or some other shit. Either way, I have never met anyone so into her appearances as her. She's the kind of girl who some guys would dribble over, she's very pretty, to some. She's either absolutely saturated in make up or has some kind of mud or anti-wrickle stuff on her. I've never seen her "normal" face before. She's supposedly on a weightwatchers diet, but is constantly grazing on fucking curly whirlys or ice cream. She also treats Sean like absolute shit. She's constantly barking orders at him, asking him to make her dinner when she gets in from work, or to tend to her other petty needs.
The worst part of her is her total and utter obsession with cleanliness.
The area we live in is still under development. There's actually still some houses going up over the road so that means that the road and pavements are usually pretty dirty. At the beginning the only rule was was that shoes are taken off when coming into the house. This seemed fair enough as the streets pretty muddy a lot of the time.
The rule then changed to using the backdoor only.
INNUENDO BINGO LOLWhy? because "whenever people open the door, dust gets blown in". Oh fuck off. So now I have to walk all the way round to the back door, go through the garden just to get inside.
INNUENDO BINGO LOL When I first came to view the place, the carpets were the cleanest I have ever seen. The house can't be more than about 12 months old and they're in really good condition. She told me yesterday after alledgedly finding "a load of mud on the carpet" that she's paying
£300 to have them steam cleaned. Well go right ahead, dear, it's your total waste of money.
What prompted me to write this was a) her going off on one at me after I cooked some garlic bread because "garlic is greasy and it makes the kitchen greasy" b) looking at me and Stephen like complete idiots after we collided in the kitchen causing me to spill a tiny drop of juice on the kitchen floor. Stephen offers to mop it up, get's a thanks from everyone except for her, and gets gawped at when he asks whether he should wash out the juice or not.
We've got absolutely nothing in common, I hate the fact i'm sending her money every month. I hate how she probably uses the "bucket over the head" technique in applying her makeup. I hate how she treats her "friend". I hate how she rumbles down the stairs (which are right above my head) at 5:30am and I hate how she thinks she is the queen of all creation. Fuck off.
