I probably should clarify also.
I'm not trying to suggest people don't send anything. Just don't keep sending the same letter. It is definitely a concern when a bill such as this is pushed through without proper discussion, just don't let other people talk for you. You're not mindless sheep, and you're not fuckwits. I assume most of you are intelligent enough to write your own letters, or at least use the thesaurus in MS Word to change words in the template letter...

Thought I'd point out for those planning to send: make sure you include your full address (of the home in the constituency where you're registered to vote), since they can't reply unless it's confirmed that you're a constituent of theirs. |

Although I'm not british, +1 to this, at all things. Petitions < mass (e)mails < self written (e)mails This also counts for different things like boycotting a game because of DRM etc. |

One of they key issues about that b*llsh*t bill, is the question of moving house. If you move to a house where a "pirate" has been denied internet access, you are blocked too. No appeal, no nothing.
It was one of the points raised during the debate and one that was whitewashed. Basically the ISP's aren't going to spend vast amounts of money judging people after an initial ban (it's likely that a ban is permanent at an address rather than a person at an address).
Utterly flawed... like the proposer of the bill: Peter Mandleson (and no, let's not get any further into politics).
PS. I'm going to write my own letter to my MP. Because I'm also Victor Meldrew and you get better at complaining with age.

The Digital Economy Bill is unlikely to be debated further in Parliament but will probably be handled in what is called the 'wash up' - that means only those parts of the Bill agreed by all parties will be passed. I will keep your views in mind if I hear anything in respect to copyright infringement and the internet.
