Why are you fannying about Tommy be a real man and fix it. Take it apart study the insides like you know what's going on, break something else acidentally, loose all the the little screws then throw the whole lot in the bin and buy a new monitor.
I've got a monitor that I fixed like this, it stopped working (backlight came on, but no picture) so I dismantled, gave everything a good clean and reassembled it, and it worked again.
