As many of you already know I had a job interview on Thursday for a national kitchen and window supplier's trade counter in Canterbury, I was told I'd get a call Friday if I'd got the job.
No call on Friday so I assumed I hadn't succeded and truth be told I pretty gutted. I'm not sure if the company I currently work for will be here after Christmas, one of the directors has had a breakdown and the other will no doubt follow soon.
This Monday I left my mobile at home and I got a call from my wife saying there was an important text on my phone so I left work on the pretext of getting some printer ink, popped home, rang the number on the text which went straight to answerphone which I left a garbled message on and drove back to work.
Half way there my mobile started to ring so I pulled over directly where a massive police riot van was about to park, I reversed to make space trying to get the phone out my trousers without making it look obvious what I was doing whilst trying not to hit anything. I got parked, answered the phone and 10 police in riot gear pile out the van. I'm thinking shiit, I haven't done anything that wrong.... have I? Then they all go into the takeaway I'd pulled up outside, no doubt on "official" police business.
Meanwhile of the phone the a lady from Magnet was asking very seriously how I thought the interview had gone. I honestly didn't know and said so. She asked me if I was still interested and I replied "hell yes" and then she told me that they were offering me the position.
I now have to attend a 3 day company brainwashing induction course in Darlington on the 6th November. I will also have to tell my employers I'm leaving at some point too. That is not something I'm relishing.
Unfortunately this new job will mean my time on these forums will be cut to evenings and weekends. However will I cope?

Just got my Magnet employment pack. Holy crap it must be over 100 A4 pages. Noticed there's a section on IT policy and mobile phone usage.
Telling the boss I'm leaving tomorrow. I hope he takes it well... or pretends it's not happening (like everything else it seems)

soo tired, 3 hours sleep, then signing on, then chopping down trees for firewood all afternoon. I also learnt that in near death situations my go-to curse is "Oh Shit" (Almost crushed by a falling tree)

Well, you can't blame the tree to try to get some revenge in response to your domination before map-end
