Went to a sales job interview today with a well known double glazing firm who are planning to go head to head with British Gas in the central heating sales market as well as selling solar panels.
Was way, way out my comfort zone, loads (50 odd) of obviously experienced sales guys from around South East England, me.... and one of my old bosses, listened to a very impressive sales pitch and then we had about 2 minutes to impress the Sales Director in order to be called back for a proper (3 hour) interview. After that there would be a 3 week residential course to be trained in the technical side of things and then let out on the unsuspecting public with company car, phone and laptop to earn obscene amounts of money.
I met an old boss whom I worked for 7 odd years ago and we had a really good talk. He was definitely one of the good guys. He left after he had blazing row with the MD, had a breakdown and then successfully sued the company for constructive dismissal. He had had some interesting jobs and thought the £36k OTE was a pay cut.

Today a freelance journalist from a (gratis) weekly newspaper was here to ask some questions because I will have an advertisement and a report in the newspaper next week. They will have a special about "succesfull entrepreneur" and I got a space there. So yeah.. I will be in the newspaper next week.. with a picture.. and I hope they will choose a nice picture  Another great thing: the journalist asked me if he can put my concept and my business cards in his practice. He is a natural health professional and psychologist and also works with kids a lot. Of course I didn't say no. So wish me luck that I don't look like a total idiot on the picture and that I get some calls/e-mails/whatever.. |

I was more pissed off that the one game I chose to get this month was a pile of wank that I can't play properly until next month.
And I kind of hedged my bets and got 2 split EPs, both with a band I know and a band I don't know on them (Leftover Crack/Citizen Fish and Against All Authority/Common Rider) and an 8 Bit mixer CD thing with a couple of songs I already know on it. So sorry, no rage up in har today.
Yet.
