Was interupted in my TF2 session last night about by my 5 yr old daughter coming downstairs and telling me there was a big spider in her room.  She has something like a pink mosquito net over the end of her bed to make it look princessy and it seems to be very popular with the spider population.

Went to investigate and it was a massive spider sitting in the remains of what looked like another spider.  So I try and do the glass and paper spider capture trick.  The spider wasn't having any of it and runs up the netting and then the bloody thing jumps at me and lands on my T shirt.  I probably screamed like a girl at this point.  In the ensuing struggle the spider was overpowered, captured and sent on a trip down the porcelain highway.

My daughter was most sympathetic.  She said "that was a very scary spider wasn't it daddy" and then goes to sleep.

So the other day Mrs Hzza needed to go into work for 7 (lol) for a stock take, so woke up before me. Me, not being totally awake heard her say something about the shower and a spider so I ignored her, farted, rolled over and went back to sleep. About an hour later I woke up, got in the shower and had been in there for about a minute before I remembered what she'd actually said: "There is the biggest spider I've ever seen in the shower, make sure you get rid of it before you go in there..." and sure enough as I turned around, there was a spider that was literally as big as the palm of my hand on the wall about an inch from my face. I did the manly thing of screaming, throwing a book at it, wiping it up in a tissue and throwing it away. Worst way to start a day ever, fucking spiders suck.

I never kill spiders...they kill flies which makes them awesome afaic. Just pick em up and put em outside or if you're too squeamish, get the mrs to do it

Called up BT again today, they're currently refusing to move my appointment forward.
Have yet to get a reply to my emails -.-

My line hasn't been ripped out hooray so am getting activation on thurs . Waiting for the engineer sucks i had to do it earlier in the year and i only had the phone line for 5 months.

Got a call back from BT regarding my emails, Lady said that she spoke to openreach to try and get them to make a sooner appointment, however apparently they said they can't -.-

Just liberated 4 Dell keyboards, a Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard and a Microsoft Mouse from a customer's van.  He was going to skip the lot and there was tons more interesting stuff on board.

Actually, saying that, I've always kept a Dell PS/2 keyboard and a shitty mouse around just in case of emergencies.

Like a REALLY big spider.

Srsly though, spares own.

edit - Actually, what mouse is it? If its an old Intellimouse you could probably get a fair bit for it as low sensitivity gamers love them and tend to offer their left nut for them!

Nah, the clan already has my left nut and I'd never get rid of my MX518 without a damn good reason.

The only reason I mentioned that is that we had about 15 of them in the old office and I didn't think they were worth nicking after they made me redundant. Turns out the older models are worth a fair bit, didn't want you underpricing them .

It's just a standard MS Optical Mouse, I'm using it at the moment, far superior to the piece of crap I had before.  Given the Ergonomic keyboard to the service engineer who has RSI.  

I now have 4 Dell keyboards in various degrees of grossness to clean up (one of them looks like the user smeared their lunch over it. Edit: threw that one away) and sell/give away.  May swap my current brushed aluminium work keyboard for one is it's not exactly ergonomic, even if it's the most stylish thing I've ever nicked off a colleague.
