Talking of toddlers, whilst driving to work this morning I had to round up an escaped toddler running down the road.  Me and a couple of passers by had to try and find where she had come from.  Fortunately she'd left her front door open when she'd made her bid for freedom.

I don't blame the parents,  the other evening we had someone knock on the door to say our 2 year old was jumping up and down on the upstairs window cill (her cot was directly beneath).  If a 2 year old wants to get somewhere they will probably get there

And talking of ribbons, has anyone here tried to buy women's slippers recently? It's absolutely unbelievable!!!!!!

You try and find a pair. Every single one has a bow, or flowers or hearts!!!!!. How old do manufacturers think we all are? Six!

You see a pair, interesting abstract pattern, take a closer look, no it's hearts. There's a sensible looking pair, nice colour, oh look a small ribbon has been stuck on the side. A ribbon too small and stupid for the actual slipper in fact but, hey, if it's not there no woman would be able to buy them. She'd become muddled and confused.

What's the scene with men's slippers...do they all need a football or a monster truck stuck on the side?

Eventually in Bhs I managed to find a nice pair, aqua, with no ribbon/bow/flower/heart. I almost expected the woman on the till to send me back with them, 'You sure you want these, luv? There's no flowers or anything.'

It's a traversty.

My mum once went on a similar rant when looking to buy an iron and every single one was pink or baby-blue!

When she bought my iron - it's a black Bosch one that has a headlight on the front...because y'know, in case I'm ironing in the dark or something. More often than not thought it ends up blinding me first thing in the morning because the button is on the handle so it sometimes flashes a bright white LED in my eyes if I pick it up wrong.
