Well, that could have gone better. It was a written test and only wrote 50-60% of the answers. I hoped there would be multiple choice question, but sadly this wasn't the case. The guy running the test said we would be contacted, but didn't say when.

Saw Star Trek Into Darkness yesterday. Good film.

Was going to see it at the nearby multiplex but saw it was on at the little indie cinema just down the road from. Decided to see it there. Very nice. Had sofas to sit in and a bar. You could order drinks and the staff would bring them to you whilst you were sitting on one of the sofas waiting for the fim to start

At the resource centre we've a service user. Recently he's been having trouble with his leg. It's become sore and swollen. He's overweight anyway, and he showed us it the other day...it was almost blood red and so swollen and bloated that you couldn't get your hands around it.

Now it turns out that some sort of creature had apparently been living in it! A worm or a fly. No idea where it came from. We're in Bermondsey, South London not the rainforest.

This of course made us all think of our own parasite stories. One colleague told of how his flatmate collapsed one evening; it turned out a fly had laid eggs on her brain. All she was told that they were working on a cure and that they'd get there, one day, but in the meantime, fly eggs on the brain! What are you supposed to do with that?

When I was overlanding in Africa, one of the guides told us she got worms. Most passed out the obvious way, but one night she just started coughing and coughing then, whoosh, something worm-like and white shot up her throat, out of her mouth and skittered off along the floor. They tried to find it but couldn't. Sort of like Alien or The Thing.

berath im not sure about this fly eggs on the brain. There are plenty of horrible brain parasites, but a fly managing to lay eggs on your brain would involve an open headwound and I can't find any examples online. Although one scientist did let some maggots bore into his arm. Is your friend a rotting zombie? I did wonder...I suspect it was some sort of brain parasite that had found it's way in there rather than a fly laying eggs on the brain. However, not sure if that makes it any better.
