I get a few calls, you can tell how legit they are by how much they already know about what you are looking for, or if they are just a moron fishing for anyone. Only when they say "We want you to come to an interview! for no reason". should you run away fast. Also google the recruitment agency. If they are the kindof douchebags who offer a "2 week trial" and then never hire anyone or pay anything you can bet theres people complaining they got mugged by them.

Well I've had a pretty busy week - went out last Saturday night and got absolutely destroyed going out for Doddy's birthday. Ended up going to Wales as a last minute decision for new years - didn't get there til 9:30pm but it was pretty good - house party at my friend's house (Doddy came too!). Fixed my mum's tumble dryer - the belt had gone (which was really annoying as I still had washing to do from a couple of weeks ago) but after ordering a new belt and lots of dismantling later I seem to have fixed it. Wasn't the easiest of things to do! Also been to Loughborough 3 times in the last week to look for places to live - looked at about 6-7 places in total before deciding on a flat that I'm really happy with so hopefully I can move in there next week. I also had a disaster of a lunch - was really excited to come back from the shop with a tin of beans & sausages and loaf of bread to have beans & sausages on toast. On getting the beans out of the microwave I ended up dropping the entire container full of beans all over the oven door / floor / walls. Luckily I bought a second can so I still managed to have my lunch - after I finished it though I dropped my phone on the plate and broke the plate in half. Phone was fine though! Start my new job on Monday - am pretty excited!

Good stuff apart from the broken plate! The belt went on my tumble dryer as well just before Christmas. Thought...shall I open up the back and try and fix it. Thought again....nah. Ordered a new one from John Lewis who delivered it, no fuss, no bother, on the Saturday before Christmas Eve.

Only adv to loughborough is if you can use the university gyms.
Otherwise just commute from somewhere else.

Took huge amount of Christmas decorations down. Put them in loft.
House now looks tatty - but big.
On the plus side there are 11 months before I see another Christmas decoration in our house.

Wooooo! House party when Deadly moves in Also Deadly and I, when we get together for drink's it gets messy! What happened on my birthday? I do remember getting in on a three way snog with one of my ex's and a lesbian. Then asked for a threesome! But ex got a bit shitty with the lesbian, cat fight broke out, they got chucked out. I started firing indoor fireworks at the strippers (indoor firework's came with the bottle of vodka) and that is only a small part of our wild night out. TL:DNR this pretty much sums up my night http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m16n7lqDFP1r8p5h3o1_500.png

Question: So in my never ending struggle to get a job in IT, I've come to the conclusion that i need to get some qualifications to back up my applications. So found a few courses, some at discounted prices offering varying qualifications, however not sure which ones to go for as I don't really now if some of them are even considered by employers. Main one I've seen at a good price is a compTIA course that covers A+, N+ and S+. Alternatively there are some Microsoft based ones (albeit a lot more expensive). So I'm thinking of doing the compTIA one, but just concerned I'll do it and find that nobody gives a shit about it.
Anyone in IT, thoughts?

portfolio is a good idea, i still don't have a job but employers can't get enough of the one crappy app i have done. Also coursera.org has some free courses as well for more cv padding.
