Working at the Ramsgate branch today and tomorrow whilst the branch managers run off to their Christmas "meeting" in Birmingham. It is absolutely dead here, we've had around 6 phone calls and about the same number of customers.
I'm amusing myself by watching daytime TV and cleaning crud off the IT equipment

It's my third day back at work (hooray) and I had a meeting regarding my holiday. I have too much holiday left (14 days) so the company rolled over 10 days for me so that means I now have 32 days holiday for next year AND the other 4 days I am going to take off in the new year! It gets better I am meant to come back to work on the 3rd so they have granted me the 4 days off then but wait I go away on the 9th to tear up some snurh and I get back on the 21st TL;DR I am going to have 27 days off for crimbo and that's not including having my birthday off so I am goign to push for 28 days off http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/400x/27926569.jpg

We're not allowed to carry leave over...use it or loose it!
We used to be able to but they stopped it...now they've brought in a system where you can buy or sell up to five days but they've only allowed a two week window in March in which you can do that for the following year
(our year runs April to April)
So basically you've got to know what leave you may or may not want up to a year in advance.
Currently we're also undergoing yet another review of terms and conditions. At the moment the maximum leave you can have with long service etc is 30 days (it was 33 before the last review last year). Now they're looking at reducing the maximum number of days to 25 (as well as reducing pay yet again).
I've fedback to senior management.

So I'm still looking for a job in IT. I may have an interview for a job next week (HR person emailed me to say she was going over the applications this weekend and will contact me either way afterwards). Its a job with shit pay to start with, but the company sounds pretty awesome, with scope for promotions and qualifications which is awesome. Fucking hope I get it, sick of my job at the moment
