I had £6000 to cash up Friday, it's a very frustrating feeling to have that much money in your hand and it not be yours.
I did get the employee of the week award though- a £10 amazon voucher.

Really crappy day off today, the Fiesta I bought around 6 months ago went in for it's MOT and failed big time. It needs around £580 worth of work, most of it welding. As I have receipts from the previous owner for nearly £900 of welding only last year I can only assume that they used to own a salt mine. As I only paid £600 for the car it will probably be going to the scrap yard when the MOT runs out in a month.
Our other car, a Zafira has developed a weird rattle (sounds like a ruler being pinged) that sounds expensive so that may also be taking very well deserved trip to the crusher too.
It may be time to make one of those phone calls to my mum or dad.
I have a mysterious pain in the ball of my foot that I have no idea how it came to be there. As I spend most of my work day standing up I'm not looking forward to tomorrow.
Plus I've just realised I'm going to be 40 in under 3 months.
On the up side I still have that £10 Amazon voucher to spend and I've managed to get 20sq m of decent laminate flooring from work for £60.
Edit: Those of you who have friended me on Facebook will of read about my 7 year old daughter (and every other child in her year) being given an iPad 2 by her school which I have been experimenting with and wasn't that impressed with (although it beats the 2 calculators, 2 cassette players and one TV/Video player my primary school had). Apparently there was a setting turned on when enabled every iPad message sent appear on every other iPad, this included, as one unfortunate parent found out the video phone calling app.

Went to a new pub that always looked sort of dicey. Got asked whether I'd lost my balls in an accident or been born without them by the barmaid because I ordered a vodka on the rocks.
Probably not going to go back there.

Should have said something but was way too confused to work anything out. Just had a mega frown on like "What are you talking about?" she actually came over again to repeat her question but I was just p.baffled.
I wanted to stay and order a malibu and lemonade or a baileys but everyone else wanted to leave so we did.

Theres a sketchmenace pub near me. We went in once tried to order a drink (there were at lest 7 or 8 others drinking) we were told they closed and were not serving. we just left before a stabbing

My mum has agreed to lend us some money to buy a couple of cheapish cars (my gran left her quite a bit of money). Now all we need to do is find something that won't break down or fail it's MOT.

or just get something old that's freshly MOT'd, and in a years time if it fails you can scrap it and get almost all the money back  My brother's had a good run doing this with Escorts. |
