Just spent two hours taking off a tyre, not finding a puncture and putting the tyre back on.

Was feeling a bit shit earlier because my weight loss has stalled this week, went for a run and I feel much better now (though i only did about 3/4 of my planned distance because I met my housemate as I passed the pub and went in with him for a diet coke)

Went to see Reel Big Fish last night, awesome  debated whether to buy a shirt on the way out but figured I could just one online if I really wanted one. Anyway, as we were one of the last groups leaving, someone made the call to go round to the back of the venue to see them leave n say hello n shit. Anyway, we stood there for a bit and one of the slightly more intoxicated of the group figured we might as well just go in. Most of us stood back and watched as a couple of people went in all covertly, figuring they'll bump into a bouncer and get tossed out shortly after. But nothing. So we followed, ended up in the back stage lounge and met the band, couple of pictures, hugs n random chatting (D'OSE MUTTON CHOPS). It was at this point I wished I had bought a shirt, my friend who had got hers signed by the entire band  We didn't outstay our welcome though, left pretty promptly, then went out and got smashed. Weird, yet awesome night Did they play take on me? |

The conference I went to is over - I've fucking aced the CLD exam I had yesterday afternoon. So I just had the most awesome night out in Austin now the conference has finished. After checking out of my 'work' hotel, I left my bags there to go and explore the town a bit more before I could check into the new hotel. Wandered past the capitol building and then found myself on an amphibious tour of Austin which was pretty cool. It was hot though, so at about 1pm I went to a bar for some drinks and was watching some of the olympics and chatting to the staff there. Ended up chatting to a couple of guys who said I could hang with them so ended up going them outta town to a cool little bar and ended up meeting like 10 really awesome people and spent the whole night out with them in Austin. Everyone was really friendly - it was great! They've invited me to go tubing with the tomorrow which sounds like it'll be great fun!! Went back to the old hotel to pick up my bags and get a cab to the new hotel and some cabbie tried to charge me 4x as much as it should have cost because it was like 3am and he had turned the meter off. I wasn't gonna let that cheeky son-of-a-bitch over charge me so I gave him what I thought was fair. I felt like a boss after arguing with him because he was so clearly in the wrong and thought he could make a quick buck off me. He opened the boot for me to grab my bags and I left it open so he had to get out and close it. Motherfucker! Ah well, I'll put some photos and stuff from my trip when I get back on Monday! Miss all you guys!  |
