I woke up and went for a short run first thing this morning using the Zombies! Run! android app. It was pretty fun following the story and collecting items as you run etc.
Our fridge/freezer broke last week (wed/thur) and someone came round today to fix it as our landlord has HomeCare (the British Gas appliance cover), only they couldn't fix it and we were told it would take a week for the part to come in and repair it which is a bit ridiculous not having a fridge/freezer for 2 weeks. The repair man said that "if you're not happy, I'll give you my manager's number and you can call them up - we're now 'customer focused'". Landlord rang them up and they're posting out a £315 Comet voucher to buy a new fridge freezer! Sorted!
I also got a free lunch today by winning a competition with my housemate to play rollercoaster tycoon and see who has made the most profit in 2 years of game time. I won by like £20k. Entrepreneurial skills strike again!

Is that app the one where you have to pay for a subscription? I liked the idea but a subscription seems a bit much to me... I PRESUME you added your run to Fitocracy too for maximum real life gamification?

A kitten died last night, don't know why either - sad.
Our youngest has a broken collarbone from he climbing antics, she can't see a consultant till Monday morning either.
On the plus side I'm one of two people in the running for the Trade Manager's job at my local branch, the other guy used to manage the branch but somehow managed to turn what was a successful branch into the disaster it is today, he then had a breakdown and was demoted to trade sales at another branch. I'd say we both stand a good chance of getting the job.

Not long now until the Olympics. Already armed police are patrolling the streets.
Got my last bit of training on Saturday; Venue training. I'll be at the North Greenwich Arena, previously known as the O2 Arena but we can't call it that because O2 aren't a sponsor. Not sure what will happen if we do accidently, I suppose the armed police are there for a reason.
Anyhow, just heard that the daughter of a friend of a friend of my mother is also going to be a Games Maker.
Her role: provide entertainment for the entire Belgian Team.
She's a clinical psychologist. In her 50's at least. She has no background in entertaining anyone. She's hasn't a clue what she should do.
I'd have no idea either in her position, I could run an hoc game of Call of Cthulhu and they'd probably fill the WDG TF2 server but apart from that.......As far as I know I'm just going to be in charge of seat-showing-to and ticket-tearing, but I'm going to be watching my e-mail inbox nervously for the final week I think.

You'd probably have more idea if you were based at the Olympic village or were charged with the task of entertaining an entire Olympic squad.
It's highly likely. High jinks is what most people would get up to in their position. I'll be seeing what I can pick up anyway over the next couple of weeks; I mean in the way of gossip.
