I found out the useless Trade Manager at the Ramsgate branch quit the other day. My immediate manager suggested I give the Branch Manager a ring to see if the position was up for grabs. Apparently.....it may be. Although working at Canterbury Branch means I get paid pretty much the same with bonus as a trade managers basic wage I would save around £150 a month in fuel. I would also like a bit more challenge and authority than my current job as a trade grunt.
The downside is that Ramsgate branch is not doing well, I may be jumping out a perfectly secure job into one that requires me to effectively turn a failing branch around or it's Jobcentre time, something I did in my previous job and no doubt I could do again. There is also the fact that I will no doubt really piss of my current branch manager and if anything goes wrong I probably will of burnt my bridges.
