Back from holiday, was pretty good, though crazy warm (20+ degrees every day) and there wasn't all that much snow, but enough to have a good time. Although BA did lose all our baggage on the flight out, which we didnt get it back till 48hrs after we arrived. I also fell flat on my face on a box rail. the result? Coulda been worse, only minor cuts and my eye was only swollen shut for a day or so, so fine

Apparently there is no viable domestic way of storing solar power produced during the day (when the house is empty) and using it at night. I suggested a ton of lead acid batteries (not very safe and bulky) or perhaps a pump to either compress air or pump water to a storage tank to drive a turbine at night. Would need some complex electrickery though.
I thought people who generate themselves simply pump the overproduction in the grid?

I thought people who generate themselves simply pump the overproduction in the grid? People I know who have them actually pump all the power back into the grid and the electricity company just pays them a flat rate. Makes it easier to work out return on investment and doesn't require storage of the power.

Busy day today. Been choosing new slippers from Amazon. Eventually settled on these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intelex-Bagpuss-Microwavable-Plush-Slippers/dp/B000246JG8/ref=pd_cp_sh_1Don't have a microwave but I reckon sticking them under the grill would serve the same purpose. I like the way they can also act as a room scenter and a cold pack as well. There is a customer review as well there. I'm not 100% sure it relates to the slippers but it's very good all nevertheless, 5 stars. (I've been trying to work out if there is any difference between the slippers listed, they're all different prices but they're the same manufacture so I think they're all the same)

I'm afraid that's probably not the case. Microwaves heat food by vibrating the water molecules. If you put your slippers under a grill you'd singe Bagpuss' whiskers.
