Went to the usual place for brunch this morning and had my usual cup of coffee.
They know us there and always know what I like. And I have my coffee in a mug. A bog standard, ordinary mug. They started serving coffee in a glass a while back. They carried on serving tea in mugs, plain white, china mugs. Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against glasses, but this was rubbish.
Here is said glass containing said coffee

First, glass...excellent conductor of heat. Acting as a container of hot liquid to be held in the hand; splendid idea.
Second, note positioning of handle. It's just so, that, when full, the centre of gravity causes the glass to rotate towards the fingers so you get hot glass containing hot liquid pressing hard on fingers. This is not a pleasant experience when one is simply there to have a decent brunch without pain.
As I said, rubbish. How could anyone be expected to drink out of something so poorly designed and executed?
I discussed this with the waitress, a lovely woman (they're all lovely in that cafe though), who was understandably horrified and concerned. I asked if I could have my coffee in one of the white mugs, I said I'd be quite happy to pour my coffee into one if that was required. I didn't want to be any trouble but it was clear the situation was intolerable. She said 'not at all' and went off to sort things out. I think she seemed to find it funny.
Since then, I always get my coffee in a mug, except one time when it came in a glass when someone else dealt with it, but the waitress quickly corrected the situation when she saw; she had her hair done just before Christmas and looked very nice which we told her. Everyone else gets coffee in a glass, though I think they may be different ones now.
