Sorry I haven't been as active lately.
The past month I've been on trial as a Design Engineer for a company that converts vans into ambulances. It's like a 10/15 minute walk from where I live so it's quite convenient.
Anyway, my trial was over at the start of December but because we were up to our heads in paperwork and drawings for a number of Fire Engine tenders we're submitted (we're tendering for work for our sister company which makes "box body" vehicles) the management didn't have enough time to sit down and chat with me about my trial period.
Anyway, it's gone down very well. I've managed to do in 7 weeks what the current guy they have doing the CAD Drawings 2 years to do apparently and the quality is still the same if not better (not my words btw! :x) so I've been offered a full time job there.
They're hoping to move to new premises (just another 5 minutes away
) before the end of January, I've already seen the place and even have my own office. :O So yeah, designing ambulances for a living - never saw that one coming.
