Been trying to learn the arm wave for about two weeks, it's really tiring my shoulders. This is the best video I found for learning it though, even though it's korean.

We now have two kittens, both currently curled up in a ball the size of my hand behind our sofa.

Our two cats who disappeared around 3 months ago and whom we thought the fox had got have just appeared alive and well (and well fed) in our back garden.  They are currently not talking to us so they must of found new owners who use a superior brand of catfood.

So I'm still in Lithuania, have to get a taxi to the airport in 20 minutes. Had an awesome time - lots of drinking and banter. Rode a segway for the first time. Surprisingly easy to do. We went to a lot of great bars and some great local people. The girls here are so pretty! :p meh, might post in more detail when I have a keyboard and not my phone.

Well two busy days.

Yesterday was, as usual, Roleplaying evening (tabletop pen, paper and dice). Currently there are four of us in the group, me and my friend who have known each other forever and two new recruits. We are waiting for a fifth to join us...a Greek heiress, she played with us before but then went off to supervise the digging of a well in the grounds of her family's Californian ranch.

I suppose Greek heiresses do that sort of thing. She's the second one the group has had. The first went off to marry a Swede. They do live in a different world. We'd be discussing our weekends going to Sainsbury's or taking the cat to the vet, they'd be telling us about the Venetian Ball they'd flown to Vienna for.

Anyhow, I'm running my Call of Cthulhu game...it's going well  We've had cultists, Gods from Beyond, ancient tomes, cursed rituals, the lot. Next week will be my last week, then it will be onto the next game. Three of us GM on rotation.

(and I'm going to have to say here that *drum roll* you are in the presence of the winner of  the Call of Cthulhu UK National Tournament at Gencon Olympia 2003. Bet you didn't know there was competitive Call of Cthulhu roleplaying  And since it is about my only claim to fame, ever, 8 years later I'm still telling anyone who might know what I'm talking about since most would just look at me with incomprehension tinged with pity..well actually most people look at me that way anyway)

So that was last night...

And tonight, a slap up meal with my mother. Fillet of pork with cabbage baked with bacon followed by brownie with hazelnut ice-cream. Yuuum.

Had an extremely long day yesterday.

As I've mentioned to a few of you I'm working on a show in Durham this coming week, and I travelled up yesterday. The train journey usually takes about five hours, not particularly fun, but not excessive either. The routing I usually take is Winchester to Waterloo, underground to Kings Cross, and then on North. My ticket yesterday took me a different, from Winchester to Reading then on to Paddington. Around Basingstoke however the train was held up by an hour, throwing off my connections for the rest of the day. Adding to that the fact that my reserved seat for the first leg of the journey was on a table with two hyperactive children and a mother who couldn't keep control and I was not a happy bunny.

I should probably point out here that I'm not criticising the mother particularly, I've no idea how I would have dealt with the kids either, but dammit I missed my noise cancelling headphones.

Eventually made it to Paddington at about the time I was supposed to be leaving Kings Cross. Turns out that I had to switch to Plan C for getting across London. I'm not sure how well you all know the tube, if any of you have had to commute to London at any point I imagine you have a decent idea. So, before I move on, best way to get from London Paddington to Kings Cross? Go!

Ok, let's see if we agree. My Plan A was to simply go east on Central/Hammersmith & City. Nope, both lines closed for the weekend. Plan B, south on Bakerloo to Oxford Circus, then up on Victoria. Nope, Victoria closed for the weekend. Plan C, south on Bakerloo to Picadilly, then up the Picadilly line. Finally made it.

Had a rather stunted question with the train guard on the service an hour after the one my ticket was for, and just about persuaded him to let me on. Though I don't think he was particularly happy about it.

Once I got to Durham had a pleasant but long day, buying supplies for the show, sitting in on rehearsals, lighting design meeting, the get-in and a pint. All in all, fun but shattered. Also had to explain to the Director that no, we do not fire a blank gun aimed directly at an actor. However much we want to.
