Got my A-Level Results and now I'm going 240miles up north to Lancaster University. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Nice! I went 300 miles away to Uni, it's not a bad thing.

According to Google Earth I went to Uni about 358860m away at a heading of 33 degrees!

Crossing the English Channel also protected me from surprise visits from the parents.

Got my AS results, A in Physics, Chemistry and Maths and a B in Biology. Yay, will probably retake a Biology module.

Yeah, I pretty pleased, but my brother aka Stalefish (If you have seen him on the server) got his alevel results back and he got A*'s in Maths, F.Maths, Physics, Chemistry and A's in Critical Thinking and General Studies so kinda jelly. Though i'm better then TF2 than him which is more important right?

You can take something from the fact that Critical Thinking and General Studies were both enormous wastes of his time, any University he looks at won't give a damn. They're more interested in results from real subjects and also how you do in the interview.

You should mention your TF2 skills in your interview, they will be impressed.

I think his offer was AAA to do Chemistry at Oxford but they specifically exclude taking into account General Studies and Critical Thinking as part of that AAA. I took G.Studs last year and got a D which was surprising considering I lost the effort to write but I am not bothered.

I feel ever so slightly more intelligent knowing that you all play on the same server as me.

The following is a drab point of view from an older man's perspective... don't click and be angry after all, it is just an opinion...

Now for the old man bit: You clever young things should now ask yourselves the question "Do I really need university?".  Now wait a second, because I'm not against uni, I went myself. However, you need to ask yourselves if running up an *enormous* debt is the right thing to do just now? Will the course give you what you need for sure? How many qualified people are already there for your chosen profession who can't get into the job market? I know this won't apply to all... but just something to think for some of you

I work in IT, and I see so many grads competing against seasoned, experienced professionals. The only thing they have going for them at the moment is the expectation of a *much* lower wage! I know IT is a wide arena, but in general "IT developer" roles, this is the truth for sure. Anyone wanting to be a standard code monkey should be aware that there are lots of foreign IT developers who are competing against you, and on an even lower wage!

Now the bit for Claws, who is a lecturer:

Do go to uni. Claws wants a Mercedes Benz and a fat pension.

I remember someone's pen stopped working in a G.studs exam infront of me, so they just stopped writing. Lol'd hard.

If I don't get into my choice of Uni I will just call then a noob until they 1v1 me scout no unlocks dm_store. If I win I get a place.

I spent one of my General Studies exams criticising General Studies. I got an A.

I wrote a letter midway through my essay, asking the person marking it, how one marks a general studies paper, considering it's based around peoples personal opinions rather than facts. I then drew a full A4 picture of some germans in a trench machine gunning some russians. I got a D.
