I've had a fun couple of days

Thursday I buggered off to Bedford. Not as bad as it sounds in all honesty. Some friends of mine had a Friday Wedding, and I was going along to stand around in a suit that I some how still fitted into. It's an odd thing using your parents home while they themselves are away on holiday. They'd left notes around the place to remind me that I should keep the curtains and blinds closed and that radio 2 scares away burglars. Good grief. Well I'm fairly sure that I can remember to close the curtains and put the radio on when I'm leaving. Other wise I'll be sat in a darkened house while it's sunny outside listening to radio two while spiraling ever deeper into despair.
Now there are some traditions associated with marriage. And one of them is that the groom should not sleep under the same roof as the bride (or something). But in essence it meant that my friends didn't want to sleep on the floor of his parent's house. So I put him up for the night. And being the kind of fellow that I am, I felt that an adventure was required. Nothing planned. Just an idea that a meal at Frankie & Bennie's Italian themed restaurants was in order. A perk of my job is that I get to see in the kitchen of places like this. So I know that F & B is a safe bet. Also the food is excellent.
The first hurdle is the F & B in Bedford is too damn popular. The car park is full and we're rather peckish at this point. So a quick drive over to Milton Keynes, and we're at the huge leisure complex of
Xscape. No cuing, just straight into F & B and subjecting the waitress to a 10 mega watt smile I ask for a table for two

A word of warning people. Dough balls are all kinds of naughty goodness. and in collusion, a damn fine meal was had by all. So a bimble around the complex, and there is much to see and do. For a start there is the indoor real snow ski slope. It's been a balmy 30c outside, and yet indoors there are men, women & children hurtling down a snow slope on a variety of boards, skis, toboggans and inflatable rings. Some impressive face planting was to be seen. But eventually our wanderings brought us to the arcades. And childhood was revisited as a variety of driving and shooting games were put to the test. We failed

But the grenade launcher in time crisis 4 was a giggle.
But a little further on there was the sounds of music and pins being knocked about. What an excellent idea. Ten pin bowling. Very quickly we both discovered that we are much better at Wii bowling. And not long after that we both discovered that we are seriously out of shape

The venue had a Thursday night special of unlimited games for £9.00 a person from 8:30pm till closing. So we got through 4 games. The first 2 there was only a point or two in it. By the fourth game I was completely pants. Manny gutter balls. But a great giggle never the less. So only getting mildly lost on the way out of Milton Keynes, it was back to Bedford. A bit of chatting till 2:00am. And then i had to try and figure out how the hell I ever managed to sleep in my old single bed. Elbow & knees made friends with the brick wall a couple of times. Grrr.
So Friday arrived and chilled and relaxed start the day. Some might say the calm before the storm. But a bite to eat and some tea & coffee. And soon the groom and yours truly were suited & booted and ready to go. So with all the curtains closed and radio two playing, it was off to Biggleswade. Guests were rounded up and coordinated and a nice civil service was had. There was confetti, many photos and eventually cake. And I did a lot of chatting as normal. By mid afternoon, some of the guests began to disperse. So I quickly nipped back to Bedford. Got changed into some thing more comfortable, packed my gear up, loaded the car and headed back for the evening gig. A nice sit down meal in an Italian restaurant. A very nice jovial atmosphere. And really good food as well. Had a long chat with one of the kids about mine craft, sounds a giggle. Going to have to give it a go me thinks. So all in all, a really nice couple of days. Made it back home for about 12:15am. So nice to be back in my own bed

Now all I need to do is stop walking like an old man. Legs are still stiff from the bowling. Thumb's not doing much better

Time for some domestic chores and then some fun
