First job today was deeply challenging. I drove 74 miles to plug in a DC power supply plug into a monitor. On the bright side, I am now home and I have managed to get through my ten days in a row without committing murder  Time off. YAY! |

Amazingly I'm still off the cigars. Kind of astonished to be honest with you. I think the trick was to forget that it was part of the routine. As for the irrational desire to rip the face off the world, that has pretty much gone. It would have been about 4 weeks ago that I felt myself enough to risk testing that theory on other people. So I went and saw HeX & Papa and the little ones. Had a lovely weekend. So the mood adjustment seems to have settled down. Still get moments where I really just want a smoke. But it feels like the hollow echo of an old habit. So it's proving quite easy to de-rail. my hearing has improved, mid-range sounds are back. So enjoying listening to music a lot more. Hearing things in it that I had previously missed. Sense of smell, I'm developing one. Weight isn't doing so well. Currently 15 stone 4lbs. Around February I was happy at finally getting under 15 stone for the first time since my teenage years. So not so cuffed about that. But the main problem is boredom. A life without vice is dull. Oh so dull. But red wine is providing a little bit of light relief. just one small problem. Recently found out that the wine glasses I got from ASDA are monster big. The hold half a pint! So no wonder I've been getting giggly. All in all I'd say life is good. I'm definably feeling more like myself. Well you've got to focus on the positive. Bet way to get through the day. I think you have quite possibly either landed the steal of the century, or been on the receiving end of a cheap blag. |

Heh, I'll see when it arrives. It was £2000 on release, but they usually go for around £200 second hand on ebay. If it works (and the description said it "came from a working environment") then I'm happy. |

I've just collected my ticket for "An Evening with Russell Crowe".
Basically he said to Bill Bryson (Durham Uni Chancellor) a few years back that he'd teach some drama at Durham, and a few weeks back a BBC journalist called him on it. So now he's coming to our student theatre tomorrow evening to show one of his films and give a Q&A.
