Beer update: Took a hydro sample, it's now at ~1.006 which should mean a final Alcohol Volume of around 3.5%. Tasted it and it's surprisingly drinkable despite being flat and less than a week old. I've been served worse in pubs. Nice to know it can only get better from here.

It aught to clear up considerably, over the next month, especially once i add some Gelatine, but was actually clearer than it looks.

Oooh must bottle my apple wine, tastes gorgeous alcohol about 14%

Racked my beer to it's keg, adding a bit more sugar to help carbonate it, and some gelatine powder to ensure it clears nicely. Now we play the waiting game an see if i managed to contaminate it :/

but hey, how hard can it be, they've been brewing since way before people knew about germs.

Solar panels did 125 units in the first week.

I brewed some beer last summer, it tasted terrible. I've looked up some better guides since and have got some good tips so maybe this summer it'll be a lot better.

On a different note I have some incredible, authentic home-brewed beer for sale from a small village in Wiltshire in 2 litre coke/dr pepper bottles any offers?

Had my 2nd driving lesson today. Was good, managed to do a bit more than the instructor was planning to do which was good - although I got really nervous of oncoming lorries - bloody intimidating, kept veering off thinking there was too little room. I guess that'll come with experience.

End of a stressful week, we've started to get our heads round the immense complexities of the SAP system at work, not before our kitchen designed had a major meltdown, called a customer a c*nt over the phone (which was true and accurate) and then proceeded to destroy the phone and then walked out.  The trade rep was sent after him after he failed to turn up and found him after a couple of hours sitting on a wall looking shell shocked, he was brought back to work and spent about half an hour with the branch manager and the divisional manager who happened to be there at the time.  He still has a job and a week off next week, it is surprisingly hard to get fired from Magnet.

The trade rep left today having got a job selling posh sheds, apparently he gave his notice in a day before he was going to be put on probation for being crap at his job.  He has never been the best driver in the world and he managed to crash his company car yesterday 20 meters from work.  He managed to shut the road completely for an hour.  I'm very tempted to give his job a try, after all it's an extra 3k per year and a free Ford Focus Estate and I doubt if I can do the job worse than him.

The management admitted on Wednesday there may be one or two issues with SAP and our training was insufficient so they sent one of the trainers down to go through all the issues we were having.  To be fair he sorted out many of the problems we were having and showed us an overview screen that had totally failed to be mentioned in any of our training sessions, wasn't in any of our training literature and none of the other trainers had mentioned whilst they were in branch with us for a week.  This screen solved 90% of the issues we were having.  We thought we were doing alright until we overheard the trainer (an ex army guy) on the phone to tech support really stressed out saying SAP is just not working properly.

We did get pizza for lunch and got to close at 1pm.

I also got the Citroen in to be repaired after we have been driving round with a massive dent in the door for over a year.  Brought it in to be repaired on Thursday but forgot our driving licenses for the courtesy car.  Mrs Bystander had my Fiesta and managed to break the (only) key in the fuel filler in the garage and was stuck on the forecourt until a good Samaritan got the key out for her.  I now have to get a new key, hopefully not from a Ford dealer.

We now have a brand new Corsa 1.2 SXi with to drive around in until the Citroen's fixed.  It looks nice, especially the interior but to drive it's horrible.  My 1996 Fiesta is faster, handles better and despite having super hard sports suspension is more comfortable.

If I'd paid £11,000 (or the £14500 RRP) for one of these I'd be seriously pissed off.

WOW! In at the deep end fella. Look on the bright side, it's the weekend. And a bank holiday weekend too

But for me this only means bucket loads more caravans and grockles. All I'm thinking is "roll on Thursday". Shift work is a swine.

So a fun packed day of mileage and sillyness. Fix the first site's problem of a "sticking" till by replacing the cash draw (know issue since the dawn of time). Attend the next site because engineers are magical and can fix things by "looking" at them. In the real world a grinding fan is a grinding fan. It's a long drive just to order a part. And then what would a Friday be without a drive into Cardiff? JOY! Dear helpdesk, writing "checked cables" in the call text doesn't make it happen. Otherwise I wouldn't fix the network problem by plugging the network cable fully into the hub socket now would I?

Home eventually, and just enough wine in the bottle to fill the glass (half a pint it turns out). Time to try and unwind before bed and another fun packed day of work to look forward to tomorrow.

Work was mega busy for lunch (queue out the door and around the corner for over an hour, queue out the door the rest of the time), but went suprisingly smoothly, no massive cock ups and for the most part my customers were pretty nice. Had one dick who was basically trying to get a free meal, so just complained constantly. Then I had a woman.... I had to make this comic strip to give a vague idea of what happened:-
