its difficult when someone has taken charge already gany, people kindof expect you to give them orders because they don't want to get it your way. Just shout orders next time and they'll probably jump to it.

I remember the first time I saw something like this (was only about 13) I had no idea how to react, but since then I've thought about it and saw how my Dad reacted and now when these incidents (including beer tray to head) happen I know how to react. Your colleagues etc will know now how to respond.

WP though Ganny, you might of saved his life.

Also:

Just had a trial shift at a restaurant in Farnham. really nice place but left at 7:30 because there was nothing to do. They're down on business right now but once it picks up again it's almost certain I'll get a new better job =3

Well today has been different.

A simple enough start. Visit a retail site and replace the touch screen, as it's temperamental. So off I toddled towards Leominster. After a fun packed drive having a mini rage or two at the tractors, I got to the site. Now one of the complications is that I need to turn off the till to replace the screen. And to make things interesting, the site has only got one till. And it controls the petrol pumps. So you have to choose your moment, or close the fore court. So after half an hour of waiting, I asked the site to close the fore court. I was told that it wasn't worth it. Mainly because the lady was more interesting in finishing her shift rather than dragging out a pile of cones from the locked store outside and blocking off the pumps. Another five minuets and I decided to do it myself. So after faffing about the lady found the keys to the shed that hold the road cones. A couple of minuets later and the pumps are blocked off. But the staff are now changing over. So rather than let me loose on the till that I've spent 35 minuets waiting to work on. They stand in front of it and have a little chat. Eventually they remember that I'm not standing there for my health and get out of the way.

The till is turned off and the screen swapped over. Boot up takes ages as normal. And 4 minuets later the till is back up and running.

Now there has been a staff change over, the new fella has no interest in helping me clear the cones. Something about he didn't put them out there in the first place. He was even less help when one of the big waste high cones twisted in my grip and slammed into the inside of my right ankle., causing little stars to go off inside my vision. I stifled the string of swear words and hobbled off to the side. I could see the bruise form before my eyes. The swelling wasn't far behind. But never mind. I still got rid of the cones off the fore court in a hobbling & hopping style

I did ask for the accident book and was told that "they didn't have one". I let that sink in for a bit and then asked him if he was joking. "Don't have one" turned into "I don't know where it is", "but it might be in this" I'm told as I'm handed a site folder. Yes very interesting, consumption reports, visitor records, wasteages. But no accident section. Really unhelpful. So a quick call to my call planners to get it added to our records at the very least. Now for the fun part. Driving requires feet and movable ankles. And I had only one working one. This leaves me a little stranded to say the least. After an hour, the pain killers haven't made a dent in the throbbing. And I can't bare to put any weight on it. So I call in sick and hastily arrange for some family members to be added to the company car insurance, due to a complete lack of spouse.

So my family had a nice road trip they didn't know they were taking Smiley

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to weather I'll be able to work tomorrow?

Jesus Rippy why do you always get to work with assholes? Here is a site that I wish you visit once:

You get there, there are very polite people there giving you free coffee and bisquits then discussing the current happenings with you as you consume the food. Afterwards there is a mad laughing contest, which you obviously win and then you get handed the broken part, while someone builds the replacement in and handles the paperwork for you. While you are being massaged by a nice lady.

Get well soon from me and Lully.

Your bad days at work make my bad days at work look like good days at work.  Get revenge on those asshole by reporting them to the local authority.  I can't believe a garage doesn't have an accident book.  I would say go to A&E just to make sure you haven't done any serious damage but I have been to A&E on a Friday night and it's not fun.

Actually today wasn't such a bad day for me, starting to get the hang of the new SAP system and I can now do invoices without having a mental meltdown.  I still can't believe the trainers missed all the processes to do a complete sale from the training and the manual.  Glad I'm not a manager though, every week we get a list of items to stockcheck.  The new system has a very complicated way of inputting this and it can only be done on a managers account.  Yesterday the trade manager spent all day checking stock and inputting it, today the system admin we had to support us told him he had actually been inputting it into a training program and that wasn't actually the stock he was meant to check.  The system admin then tried to bring up the stock check he was meant to do and missed ticking a box in a sub sub menu.  She brought up every item of stock in the entire company, 125,000 different lines of stock which have to be removed from our system manually.

We are still waiting to do the stock check.

Ouch  Embarrassed

...hope it's better tomorrow. It sounds they need to be reported or something to get their act together.

I actually had a reasonable day today. My old line manager who was made redundant in our restructuring earlier this year, came down with her partner and two children (twins) and we went to the local Pizza Express for a long lunch giving me a break from peformance reviews for the team and writing up minutes from a loooong meeting I had on Wednesday with a relative over-involved with the support we are currently giving her brother with learning difficulties. He is self-harming and being abusive towards his carers but her anxiety is fueling his which is fueling his behaviour which is fueling her anxiety and so on and so on....

Pizza was good and so was the Banoffi pie afterwards  Smiley

See got to love Fridays Smiley There's pie.

For me, a dose of painkillers and the hope that all will be groovy in the morning. Which it will be I'm sure (hoping like hell). At the moment I'm trying to learn how to walk with a stick. The trick seems to be not to put the end of the stick on your toes moments before you put all your weight on the stick Smiley I'm using the pain intensive learning process. Hopefully won't do that to many more times. I'm running out of toes Cheesy

Ugh, 2 shitty nights in a row. Work is crazy busy atm cos there's this festival (The Great Escape) going on in Brighton, so we just get slammed in the evenings, like tonight we had a queue pretty much out the door constantly from 6pm-9:30pm, and we still had an almost half full restaurant when we closed at 11pm. The annoying part is for both nights I've been working the bar, which on a night like these, is a 2 person job, yet they put me on on my own both times. I then get absolutely hammered with orders all coming at once and people start tutting etc when I ask for someone to help me. The problem is, even when I don't need help, I can only just keep up with doing the drink orders and some of the other bar jobs (this includes sorting takeaway, being the cashier, washing glasses etc), but it means I can't do any of the nightly cleaning duties as I'm working, which I'd usually do which means there's less to do at the end of the night. So by like 11pm tonight, nothing in the bar had be done. oh, also nobody during the lunch shift put away the drinks delivery, so i got to do that too, which was nice -.- Eventually got out at like 12:30am, fucking stressed and exhausted.

The only thing that makes it worth it is the money. Made about £50 in tips alone

It's a beautiful sunny morning. And my ankle feels better. Not great. Not by a long shot. And an interesting way to wake up is kicking your own bruise. A sharp bolt of pain does wake you up nicely, but it's not pleasant.  But on the bright side I can walk about on it without too much discomfort. So yay! Does mean that I have got to go to work though. Here's hoping today doesn't involve that much heavy carrying.
