Well constantly working hard, never being late or pulling sickies, covering shifts at last minute and working back to back day and night shifts to cover illness. Then being rewarded by not being granted any holiday I wanted, managers fucking me over in general and never willing to be flexible despite me helping them out all the time. Then being given a million things to do when we are short staffed and then being blamed for when everything isn't done because its impossible to do so.

So yeah pretty bad in my opinion. But i'm gonna get my own back by quitting just before I go on my holiday (which they won't give me off) which will let them know how it feels to get fucked over hopefully. Maybe a bit childish I know, but they have really pissed me off lately.

Not when I was there. Had some team-working exercises, but only during the Interview stage.

Tuesday: Work all day till close.

Sensing a pattern here? just FYI, that's not the norm, that's a pretty brutal 5 days, never mind the 2 days I did before those, and Wednesday evening I'll be doing. 8 days in a row, 7 of which I'm on till close, 6 of which are full day shifts (that's about 9-10 hours usually), pretty brutal. Exhausted

But off Thursday n Friday for mah bday :3

No special rates or extra holidays in lieu for working bank holidays?

Extra holiday sorta. They used to pay extra, but they apparently changed it before I started there so that we get a 7 more days of holiday. Not sure which is better tbh. All i know is, I r sleepy, but dreading the fact that as soon as I wake up, I'll just have to get ready to go straight back to work. Like literally atm, it's like wake up at 10am, get showered and do the usual morning routine, leave and get to work for 11:45, work all day (with an hour or so break inbetween), finish at about 11:30pm or later, come home, go to sleep, repeat -.-

I had to work a couple of bank holidays (4 bank holidays so close together, absolutely ridiculous) but I get effectively get paid double time and I get the days back.  I thought having the days off was the law anyway.

I feared there would be tons of roleplaying on my induction for my current job but roleplaying was conspicuously absent, as the the mad Scotsman who took the course put it "you'll be pleased to know we aren't doing any roleplay shit on this course"

It can be frustrating working for a large company after working for smaller ones for so long but at least it's Magnet reconise they actually employ people rather than awkward statistics.

We don't pay extra for Bank Holidays.

The team don't even get paid extra for working Christmas Day/Boxing Day/New Years Day. All normal, single rate. We're a 24/7 service.

Personally I don't know how we get away with it...they make out it's normal.
