No sarcasm at all I assure you dear boy Smiley Just felt moved to respond in rather spiffing terms. It also more easy of one to respond in such a manner rather, than say, a Walt Disney "Mary Poppins" cockney style Smiley

Good luck with the no smoking hell thing Rippy.  Take your frustration out on Nissan Micra drivers because (a) they deserve it and (b) they won't notice.

The wife and I have spent the whole weekend swapping the kid's bedrooms around with the plan of sticking both daughters (5 & 1) in the large bedroom and our son in the smaller bedroom.  With any luck the next one to pop out will be a boy.  I cannot believe how many toys they have got, move one piece of furniture and there is an avalanche of toys.

So far our son's bedroom is pretty much finished.  Our Daughter's room is at present just a bed in a sea of black bags.

Urban kitsch Smiley Nice.

Today has involved Ikea flat pack furniture. It's unpackaging, desphering and construction. So I have built a bed side table. A chest of draws. An even taller chest of draws with mirror. I've had that manly feeling of using two different screwdrivers and a hammer. Oh yes! Today also saw the realisation of the surround sound speaker wiring and network cabling. It all worked. I can't tell you how relived I am about that. Shame the TV arial is a waist of space. Pathetic signal. But given that all the neighbours seem to have TV arial on the ends of masivly long poles, maybe a loft arial isn't gonna cut the mustard. That a job for another day. the major decorative works have all been done in my brother's home. Now just the long list of minor jobs scattered all over the place.

Nearly 23:50. So I have nearly completed a week without tobbaco. Still not a happy bunny. Lungs hurt a bit. Hay ho. Hope this is all gonna be worth it. Might have helped if I had a goal, rather than some daft idear to see if I could actually do this.

Just get Sky put in, considering you get free installation and free set top box, and can still get the freeview channels in a years time after the contract expires, It's not too expensive and you get the sky channels in the meantime.
We've just had Sky+ put in, £30 a month for the variety pack with HD channels, free install and free Sky+HD box. We also got a £50 M&S voucher and another £80 cashback through Quidco. All told it's pretty much the same cost as getting Freesat.

Oh strewth! Don't give him idears. There's already a satalite disk on his home with a quad head. Two of the wires already come into the living room. I've no idear where the other two go. One dissapears into the wall and doesn't come out anywhere I can find. The other buggers off around the corner, and I don't thing the neighbours would apreciate me trampeling through their gardens to go and look the for the other end of the wire Smiley

But yes, satalite is all kinds of good. My own oppinion is tarestial arials are shit. For my neck of the woods the big joke goes like this. Local BBC news on satalite and cable is "South West". On tarestrial it's "Midlands". So using a TV arial? Then no local news stories for you. The irony is this, HeX & Fade live in a nice little Dorset vally. Do they get local news? Do they buggery. A couple of years ago when Gloucestershire was under water, they were getting the news stories about it. Did "Midlands cover is? No.

So in short, tarestrial TV arials = poo. Satalite & cable = good.

Terrestrial reception is actually really good where I live, can pick up everything on a handheld TV. Unfortunately that's because we're line of sight across the bristol channel to south Wales, so we get Welsh local channels. Not only is the news irrelevant, it's also in moon-speak.

If he's already got a satellite up there though, just pick up a freesat box. Bog standard SD ones are only £40 or so, probably cheaper than a new aerial. Or is it that he needs the TV in multiple rooms and you can't find the extra cables?

I saw an amazing new house build on the OCUK forums, the guy ran multiple CAT6 cables to every room, and back to his under stairs closet. He also wired his house up with IR detectors and repeaters. Using HDMI via CAT6 baluns and an HDMI matrix (remote controlled of course) he can have all his set top boxes, PC's, Consoles in the closet under the stairs, and just pipe the output to anywhere in the house.

LOL! Beware the Welsh Cheesy

I think I remember the new build your on about. Now that's the kind of grand design I would like. Geeked out home. All I need now is a lotto win.

But it's a Monday. So for me that means getting a shave. Pulling on my work clobber. And heading over to Bicester to reload a till that wasn't done on Saturday because the Manageress said they were "Too Busy". If they complain to me about time after the hour and half drive it will take me to get there, well I'll be miffed Smiley
