Well today I hurt my knee because our property management is too stupid to clear the walkway of snow. So that is not nice.

But what is more than nice: I just booked our honeymoon, yay!

I would second the motion of you two attending the next big meetup. Although I could imagine more romantic honeymoons than camping on a racecourse. And playing TF2.

I would love to come over and visit my fathers homeland. But LAN-Parties are not really mine anymore... so we (or at least I) would have to stay in a hotel nearby.
We will see what next year brings for us. If the money/work/home/marriage situation is right, we will definately try.

Commiserations Deadly, I thought being stuck in Canterbury for 5 hours was bad enough and I had the bonus of some back roads shortcuts, sarcastic policemen (can't go that way, can't go that way, how did you get through there, now go back and sit in that queue you've just spent the last 3 hours in) and a Terry Pratchett book.

The M25 is bad enough at the best of times, but yes, front wheel drive FTW, there is nothing funnier than watching a top of the range BMW go up a hill in the snow driven by a typical BMW driver.

Can't get out of bed, it's too cold.
We've had the boiler turned off the past few days to save fuel. Only heating we have is a wood fire in the lounge, which is miles away from my bedroom.

Supposedly getting more oil delivered tommorow, by I doubt the road conditions are good enough for them to reach us :/

I need to find a way to make use of our only abundant natural heating resource, Cats. Some kind of suit made of pockets might work.

Finaly home! YAY!

Horray for decent phone coverage. Horray for internet connection. Horray for radiators.

Should have come home yesterday, but the snow started coming down, so spent an extra day with the folkes. Went and brushed the snow off the cars to escape the final of strickly come dancing. My inner child had a blast. I've never walked around in snow that deep befor. Unfortunatly wellies aren't that good at keeping out the cold. After an hour I came back in. Strickly come dancing was still on.

So today was the drive home. Things were ok once I got on to the M1. After that it was the usual case of the washer lines freezing up, even though I was using neat screen wash solution. And sod's law ment that the passenger side eventually worked ok, but sod all to see out of the drivers side. A problem with automatic windowscreen wipers is that when you pour screen wash on the windowscreen the wipes fire up. I ended up getting covered in screen wash. So my favorite hoodie is now in the wash. But it's good to be bcak home. And on the plus side I don't think I've lost any fish. But the survivers may have eaten the evidence.

I went pen&paper roleplaying today. First I had to shovel my car out of 25cm of snow and approx. 40 meters to the street because the facility management on campus couldn't be arsed to drive their snow plow up the dorm's driveway. Lo and behold, when I came back some 20 minutes ago -- a clean driveway. Of course that meant all the snow was now piled up in the parking lots and I had to shovel myself 2 square meters free of snow so I could park.

I had a fun day nevertheless...
