Finally treated my self to a new(ish) Laptop, got a used 13" Macbook Pro Retina on Amazon Marketplace. It's pretty sweet and I like being able to watch Hi-Def stuff without frame drops or cooking my stomach. OSX is good apart from the XBMC and Plex apps being broken.
I really wanted a Win8 Detachable Tablet/Laptop Hybrid, but the current crop all have flaws (Lenovo Helix is closest to perfect, but way too pricey), Should be loads out in a few months thanks to Haswell. I figured the mac will hold it's resale value and I can re-evaluate at christmas.

Found out what the group exercise will be for my assessment. Apparently we're all in a lifeboat escaping from a sinking ship and have to decide what we're going to be taking with us! (unless they changed the exercise from yesterday  ) |

Our ship was sinking. We had 15 items we had to take with us onto a life raft. We had to rank them in order of importance.
One was a sextant. None of us could use it. I was the one who suggested we take it as a weapon, for instance to bludgeon sharks to death (think of arm action going on here).
I also was the first to mention cannibalism. Can't really say how it all went.

isn't the housing market likely to tank again. Especially if the government actually does their job and builds new ones. Asking prices are waaay too high atm apparently. And people have to pay full council tax now if its an empty property. So no tell them to get stuffed they are trying to sucker you if they hold out for list price. This is second hand information though so who knows.

It's pretty tricky, The gov's new scheme for first time buyers is likely to keep prices up though. At the moment it looks like prices are slowly starting to rise again. Kinda annoying because I'm haemorrhaging money on rent and fuel until I can buy a place near my job, If It takes a year or so to find a place I'll probably spend more than I'll save on any price drop.
