you can use other softwares..
BUT.. that mostly includes dicking around to make it work AND results in possible censure by Apple. This. Also theres no real alternative to iTunes when you have multiple podcasts your subscribed to and constantly need to update them which I use my iPod for like 95% of the time.

Agree with Abda, I haven't found a better way of managing lots of podcasts but at this point I just want shot of iTunes so will gladly download them manually until someone can tell me a better way .

Decided to sort out my 2 bookcases today. I own several hundred books, about half of which are stored in a cupboard and half on the bookcases. I hadn't really had a proper sort out since I moved in with my wife around 8 years ago and going through some of the books was like coming across old friends (that I'd kept in a cupboard for 8 years). I found a lot of books that I thought I'd lost including my Terry Pratchett hardbacks. I also found 2 Harry Potter audio books on cassette and some old PC games (Alfa Centuri, Populous the Beginning, Civ 2)that I thought I'd sold years ago and wished I hadn't.
My bookshelves are now orderly and one case is almost totally devoted to Terry Pratchett and Iain M Banks. I also have a lot of books to get rid of when we next do a bootfair.
I have a week off the week after next. I plan to spend that putting some music on my new phone. Mrs Bystander, however has plans to go on holiday (in the UK) and requires a chauffeur.
Bought some phone accessories off ebay. A car charger, in car phone holder, screen protectors and a case. Paid about £7 in all. Phones4U sell a similar pack for £40 and reduce the price to £20 if you buy a phone.
My son's stereo has died. I need to get him a new one that plays cassettes. Is that possible anymore?

@disco - I use podcatcher on Foobar, I just haven't figured out the finer points of it yet so at the moment when I add a feed, it goes and downloads everything thats ever been on that feed, which is quite anoying...
@Milli - I went rumaging through some old books today and found my old copy of The Hobbit that my dad read to me when I was 6. Started reading it tonight and can still remember all the voices he used to do for all the dwarfs. I might've cried a little bit as well...

This weekend was Gay Pride weekend in Brighton. Spent pretty much all of it working. Today a lady came up and pressed her boobs against the windows. ME GUSTA! Yesterday someone in a very elaborate "furry" outfit came up to the window. I thought of Barry ;3

I love going to Pride in London.
If the weather's right, it's amazing how many men choose to wear so little.
By the way, those two sentences have no connection to one another. I enjoy Pride because everyone is out to have fun regardless of sexuality and the crushing oppression of da Man.

Mrs Bystander has booked us a holiday. We are off to a caravan in Felixstowe for four days next week. Managed to avoid the worst possible scenario of camping on the Isle of Sheppy.
Hopefully the Zafira will cope with the journey and the clan will cope without my massive input.
