Busy day at work, one of the guys suggested a "Screw and Wipe" Valentines promotion (buy 2 packs of screws and get a packet of wipes) and the Branch Manager went along with it.  We are now thinking of innuendos to go in the local press (come see our wood etc.)

Day off today, was dragged off to a soft play area as my year old daughter absolutely loves it.  There is a large climbing frame with a slide that is about 3 meters off the ground and about 6 meters long.  There is a net fence 2 meters from the end of the slide.  It is not an easy task for the average two year old to get to the slide.  

One of them not only made it to the slide, he managed somehow to drag one of the ride-on toys they had out.  We heard a rumble rumble rumble..... CRASH as the toddler launched himself down the slide, miraculously staying on the toy and crashed cartoon stylee into the fence at the bottom.  There was a stunned silence as people tried to work out what they had just seen and then as the toddler picked himself and the toy up (to have another go) the laughter started.  It  was truly one of the funniest things I have ever seen.  I just hope that the security cameras were on the slide and the owners have the balls to put it on Youtube.

yay I'm back.. after being sick for almost 2 weeks, I feel much better now as I could sleep the whole night without coughing.

Some new stuff has happened:
After panicking again because I wouldn't get any calls/e-mails from parents looking for a childminder, I got 4 calls within some days. So starting monday a little boy (1 year) will be here every day for 9 1/2 hours, another one starting in April. And then a mother called, she needs someone for some hours in the afternoon for her twins! She already called in october when she saw my advertisement in the paper but by then it was too early for her. Now the twins are 1 year old and she would like to start working again for some hours a week. So this is perfect now.

Another nice thing: "Self-employment-anniversary" next week. I can't believe that this year went by so fast....

Bad thing: Another matter of argument with the mother of one kid. It seems like she is not trustig me generally and only sees me as an underpaid babysitter. So I have the termination here, waiting for her to call me back, as I was promised 3 days ago. Coward!


But the best thing is: 3 more months until our wedding day! At the moment I'm ordering all the decoration for the tables as I'm afraid if I wait longer all that stuff is sold out. And that would be sad especially as I have coupons for that shop for almost 100 €.
Getting married is very exciting We invited 66 relatives and friends.. 50 said they will be there (Pauls family is not 100 % sure yet, but we hope for the best). We thought that maybe 35-40 guests will be there... wrong guessing So when will you guys arrive? 
Well.. I will write in another forum about that stuff now as I don't want to get you all to fall asleep.

One of my colleagues has set up a website (no, not that sort of website) and he is getting frustrated at the lack of traffic so give it a visit http://patchwork-peggy.co.uk/ and send him mad wondering where all this new traffic came from.

Thanks to those of your who visited the site my colleague is wondering where the hell all this new traffic has come from.  Keep it up.  One day I may tell him, but that will mean that they find out I'm called Millicent at weekends and evenings.

The branch trade rep had his company Ford Focus taken away for repair and was given a brand new hire Renault Laguna, it was meant to be a step up but he says it's inferior in every way.  It took him half an hour to open the boot and just don't ask about the handbrake.

The Joys of Renault. Odd, the scenic I had on hire was a nice car. But saying that is was very nearly fully loaded. I think all it was missing was satnav. But that aside, really liking the Astra I've been given for work. Just after having front and rear parking sensors on the scenic, I'd like to see them on the astra.

Nearly at the end of the long stretch. YAY!

Today I had the meeting with the mother I told you 4 posts ago And when I was sitting there listening to the "problems" she has with my daycare, I realised that this has no future. So I told her, that I made a termination (last day 31.03.2011) and she has to find another childminder. The trust is gone on my side and I believe she never trusted me in the first place (she asked some questions in the past months and I always thought: Does she know that I am the "boss"? I made the contract and she has to trust me to take good care of her kid? More than once she gave me the feeling that she believes I am stupid and only work as a childminder because I'm too stupid to do anything else.) So I gave her two copies of the termination and asked her to sign one for me and one for herself. She said she couldn't sign them, before she found someone new to watch the kid. (Uhmmm? Noo?) Well after telling her, that she doesn't have to "accept" the termination just sign up that she received it, she took both papers and left with a harsh "bye".
Tomorrow would usually be the next day I shall watch the kid but I think she won't bring her. Last week after the very harsh phone call she didn't bring her either.

So I' pretty proud right now, that I did something for myself.. I'm not a person that can handle stuff like that pretty well, so I think I learned a lot in the last year.
Lets hope she reads the termination until the end as I wrote that she is not allowed to talk about all that stuff to other persons. As I found out a week ago other parents didn't read that and toll the new childminder, that I would change the dipers often enough. Funny though that they asked me more than once, why I need more dipers and how often I change them...

Why can't I just work with the kids? Never even see the parents or something?

Still working on fixing my Comp.
If anyone's curious, I updated the firmware on my RAID0 SSD's and my partition table seems to have confused itself (windows system recover partition still there, but it couldn't see the main one). As far as I can tell all the data is still there, I'm currently using some recovery tools to get it back.
