Cruel there is an easy fix for the no text problem, it's in a sticky in the bug reports forum. Here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1159147

It could and will be improved.

Things I like:
- most of it, in general. There is a lot of choices of how you want your gameslist to look now and many new features will be useful.

Things I don't like:
- no compact view on the gamelist. Should be the same as the detail view, but not as fricking wide - there is no point for it to be that wide, it's just 4 columns with the game icon, game name, status and last played so why the hell is it so wide?
- no possibility to sort the games by status in EVERY viewmode. It should be automatically sorting the games by installed/not installed first and then alphabetically within each of those groups. Same for custom categories. You can sort it by status now, but then it's not alphabetically sorted. (EDIT: Found out that sorting alphabetically first and per status second gives this result. Should be default sorting though).
- the colour scheme is pretty much 50 shades of grey, but there will be skins for this problem.
- still no wishlist or similar
- still no transfer of games from one account to another (will never be there, probably)
- still no price conversion with the current currency exchange rates instead of some fantasy numbers as the price (not likely to change either)

There are some excellent threads going on in the suggestions forum and if Valve listens to them, Steam will be epic.

I don't like the new Steam UI under beta.

Feels very amateurish tbh, seems to have lost function and usability for looks (and it doesn't look great IMHO)

I don't like the new in game overlay having a clock. It means I can't avoid realising I've stayed up till 3am with Mama and Deadly admin abusing our way through L4D2's Parish.

However, the new in game browser doesn't automatically fill the whole screen automatically which is awesome. That's tempered by the fact that I keep leaving it open on Facebook and then get surprised by 3 people demanding to know why i'm ignoring them on facebook chat, but I can't really blame valve for that one.

they added the clock i suspect because windows live has a clock, and now i have 5 stupid gfwl games on steam i keep bringing up their overlay and then steams and thinking why doesn't steam have a clock. Its all microsofts fault. That said I have my LCD poster next to my keyboard which acts as a clock anyway so having it on the overlay instead is more useful. Not that it stops me staying up till 3am and then coming into work at midday for the 5th day running. Not that anyone cares that I do, isn't research great?
