I'm not sure why you put a the in front of puberty, Power. If you can tell me the logic behind it then I (might) be able to work something out. Your native tongue is Russian, right? Which doesn't have any articles?

Can't blame you for messing it up to be honest. I've never heard you mess it up with any other words.

Well for me puberty is a thing (transferring from russian and german it's a noun), rather than a "time period" and you usually place "the" or "a" in front of a thing, don't you? I on the other hand don't see the logic between leaving out the "the" on some words if on the vast majority of them you don't. How is "puberty" different from "childhood"? You don't say "the childhood" either?

Mine is due mid April, I'm really looking forward to it. Being a scientist im planning baby experiments for her.
To start with I want to work out exactly the point my child becomes more intelligent than the dog.

You will cry at that first magical point, when you realise that the child has actually outsmarted you.

Don't under estimate mother nature.. she's equipped the kids to learn too damn fast! You will have smartarse answers very quickly....

And the worst thing, is that sometimes kids see things so straightforwardly and with superior logic to adults (when we add un-necessary complication).

I was also surpised today by a set of Russian dolls I got in the post, apparantly the nursery is to have a Russian doll/gypsy caravan theme, women just confuse me

Personally I am grateful if somebody corrects my mistake. Without you guys pointing out our mistakes how can we non-native speakers learn to avoid them and improve.
Sure, most of the time you get what I intend to say and probably think "I've understand even if it was phrased wrong/clumsily/stupidly", but the lack of feedback never let's me realize it was wrong (nor am I given the chance to be presented with the correct/more appropriate alternative).

I can't speak for my fellow non-native speakers here, but I would appreciate the occasional correction. In that spirit, Brahms: +1
