i'm not sure i like how supply depots have been officially approved as being used for wall making (with the addition of the raise/lower). Maybe we could have been given actual walls instead...

Eh? Supply + wall sounds better than just a wall to me!

At the top level, against zerg anyway, you rarely see depot walls because they're very vulnerable to baneling busts (banelings blow up depot-> zerglings get in and kill everything). A lot of top players will put a barracks and factory in the way instead, lifting them off when their units need to get past.

it just seems like a design failing that we resort to using buildings to block passages. would just be nice for it to make sense in-universe

Me raping some douche who tried to proxy gate me, probably the worst proxy I have ever seen. As expected he has terrible micro and macro, typical of cheese mongers.

He tops it off with an early GG, trying to make me leave. Makes the game go on for 10 minutes longer than is necessary, so I BM the crap out of him.

Means his opponent played Protoss, to get buildings working as a Protoss you must build Pylons near it that create an energyfield. Later in the game you can research a technology that allows you to build units whereever a Pylon is. So what Protoss players sometimes do as a "cheese" tactic (cheap strategy to win early) is that they send a worker to the enemys base right at the start and they build a Pylon in a corner where the otherone cant see it (unless he scouts his base, which most people dont tend to do) and as soon as he researched this technology he warps in units near that pylon in your base. Pretty cheap

Yup that's proxy pylon, but he proxy gated me. Literally built a pylon and a gateway near my base and threw zealots at me, which I held off with some clutch lings

Reaper Rushing with 3-5 units + faster jetpacks, early clearing of their resource gatherers. In the meanwhile, start constructing a fleet of banshees with cloaking, while constructing a small group of marines / marauders to defend

Most people don't bother constructing missile towers / buildings which can see through cloaks by their command centre, pretty easy win when playing against protoss :> 95% 1v1 win rate so far

hawt maybe you want to try going in with only 2 reapers or so because i feel that by having that many reapers its pretty late and if the enemy has any sense he would have some defenses at that point.

After seeing some of the cheeses, during every game i scout my base and theirs and i build missile turrets every time to defend the worker line. I do it to the extreme on expansions. It works a treet and with the MMM ball defending the line with a raven to detect its so hard to take down.

I was like you before hawt, going for the rush but i decided to try and win using the macro game and when you get the timing right its great fun.

Anyways in other news I am nearly in Gold league. Been working my way up from mega noob and have been learning and thinking ever since. SC2, the thinking game!

Starting to get tired of the teambattles. Beaus right, sad to see that the only thing that really works in 3v3 and 4v4 (atleast on my skilllevel) are early rushes with mass basic units and/or one guy just goes mass eco and dominates the game with his mass voids/vikings/whatevers (@ our games yesterday)

Sorry btw that I left, I had said providerchange this night and my connection was down until I think 7am or so.
