Argh - seems pretty silly to me about Valve - if I were you I wouldn't stop pestering them about it. Don't you have records & stuff of emails sent to them / tickets that you can use to highlight to them that your account was taken over?

I mean, they might be shit to their paying customers over this, but if you were serious there are UK laws meant to protect customers from this kind of service cutoff.

I'd certainly take it as far as I could legally (personally I'd get into researching it all, would be fun for me, if frustrating in general having been banned for no reason), even though the amount of money spent through steam is probably less then £100. A system like this deserves a crap reputation because it is crap. sigh.

This is even after you managed to get back your steam account and whatever! What a joke.

I realise also you can't afford the time nor money to do what I said, just putting it out there, that the fight might seem big but would be worth investigating I think at some point - I've never heard anyone properly going through legal motions over it, and there is little law one way or another - basically however, as far as I recall, a one sided action like this to cut off services when money has been transferred is an issue! (They technically could do it just to make more money as it were, it's pretty dubious anyway, especially considering how hackers supposedly subvert it very, very easily, and as a programmer it appears to be like that anyway, considering cheaters still appear!).

I would be surprised if there isn't something in the Steam Subscriber Agreement that says that Valve has the right to do this and then ravage your mother if you so much as ask why.

I am researching everything I can Andrew, I can assure you I will not stop pestering Valve untill this is sorted! I want either an explanation or my account back! Cutting me off is just not good enough seeing as I have never used a hack in a steam game in my life! (I have used hacks before, with friends over lans, we were all doing it to each other for LOLS and that was YEARS ago and not on a steam game)

I am in talks with D2M of ETF2L (who's been awsome about it tbh) and he's in talks with some guys about trying to help me out! I can't believe the great lengths the ETF2L admins are going to help me out (I think there's 3/4 people trying to help me ) and they've given me some great advice. Apparently, there have been quite a few cases of "Un-VAC-Banning" people if the offence was committed during a proven highjack (like mine were proven and therefore, given back)

so, this being the case, it can take up to 6 months to get an account back! yes 6 whole months!

Yes, the agreement does sort of say lots of nasty things.

You could possibly challenge under UK law.. but that's the point for Valve. Nobody is going to waste large amounts of money over a law-suit that they are likely to lose, particularly when you can just get a new account and buy the games over again.

This is why I don't buy lots of games on steam tbh. I don't trust Valve to get things right and there is no appeal either. The system sucks, lets be thankful they don't administer justice!
