Hey chaps, In Glasgow ATM, hometown of Matts girlfriend. Is Matts
birthday today, he would have been 27. We went to see star wars in concert tonight, was fucking amazing. Matt (and all of us) is a massive star wats fan. Though I realised I don't think I can listen to the star wars theme anymore without crying. I was one of Matts coffin bearers at his funeral and we carried him to that tune. Just brings back a horrible memory =\

Recent developments:
They found his shoes he was wearing the night he was hit (think they were being stored in evidence or something) and are returning them which is nice.

Also the guy who did it is being charged with causing death by dangerous driving today (they had told us that they could only try to convict him of driving without due care and attention, which the penalty is basically a slap on the wrist) which, if convicted, carries a mandatory prison sentance. For how long, I don't know, but it's better than him just getting community service.

Up to 14 years imprisonment

details:-

i) No aggravating circumstances – twelve months to two years' imprisonment (previously 18 months);
ii) Intermediate culpability - two to four and a half years' imprisonment (previously 3 years);
iii) Higher culpability – four and a half to seven years' imprisonment (previously 5 years);
iv) Most serious culpability – seven to fourteen years' imprisonment (previous starting point of 6 years).

So a12 months at least
