reading the wiki on the amish they don't actually seem that bad, i'm surprised the US government lets them ignore state law on education and things but they don't view technology as evil and apparently you can break the rules and repent later because all they do is shun you until you say you are sorry. The only fail I can see is they are getting a bit inbred and susceptible to genetic disease but they go to clinics and things they don't lock up freak children in the basement.
