Man, they don't let you do offline saves even? Fallout 3 allowed offline saves (I didn't even bother with GFWL on that for ages I recall).

its tied into your profile, you can have an offline profile with no achievements and no dlc, or an online profile. Steam handles cahching permissions and usually awards achievements you got whilst disconnected it, but gfwl won't. Because its so very important to stop people cheating to pad their gamerscore.

It's the most stupid system I've ever come across - as if save games are so important they need to be tied to logging in. Dawn of War 2 had this in droves, can't transfer a multiplayer campaign game between different people even!
Oh well, I'll pick up Mass Effect 2 before this and play this later I think. It'll get played just it's a shame more and more games use GFWL!

Fallout 3 has dev console anyway so you cheat your heart out and it still awards achievements. Can't really think of any good reason to do what they do.

I've never really seen the bother with GFWL, whenever I'm on the computer its connected to the internet haha (if it isn't, i ain't using it!)

Well I didn't realise it had an activation limit, its an accounts based system so thats kinda dumb, and its just bloat on top of steam when gfwl does the same things but sucks more (and originally charged you for the privilege). I use GFWL but I still wish it a swift merciful death.

Was the narrator in LotR? I swear shes an elf galadriel or whoever. If not she wishes she was galadriel and is delivering a narration just like LotR. Expected her to say something about the one ring at the end. |
